David Hogg is no longer on the Board of March For Our Lives<\/a> (MFOL), the student-led gun-control organization, after the former Parkland student was blasted on social media for leveraging his Internet fame and victim status to cash in on a new pillow venture that seeks to take on the conservative MyPillow guy, Mike Lindell<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March For Our Lives issued a statement, last week, explaining the move. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday, March For Our Lives Co-Founder David Hogg decided that he will take a leave of absence from his position as Board Member to take some time for himself to reflect and recommit to the mission,\u201d it read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want our youth activists, supporters, and followers to know that the Good Pillow company is not associated with March For Our Lives,\u201d it continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood Pillow,\u201d is what Hogg is calling his company. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parkland survivor and MFOL\u00a0co-founder Cameron Kasky was one of Hogg\u2019s biggest critics.\u00a0 While Kasky left MFOL in September of 2020, he couldn\u2019t help but weigh in on Hogg\u2019s Good Pillow business and how it blights the mission and work of MFOL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo those of you who marched, donated, lobbied, and called for change\u2026 I\u2019m so sorry this is what it turned into.  This is embarrassing,\u201d Kasky said on Twitter, Feb. 9, 2021.  But, welcome to America, everything ends up a grift.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, Kasky added more fuel to the fire.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hogg immediately rejected the notion that Good Pillow is a cash grab.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a longer statement pinned to his account, Hogg evinced a more conciliatory tone.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo my fellow organizers and those I love most, I want to express my deepest apologies.  You all have been there for me through some of the roughest times of my life, and I also want to thank you for your continued practice of holding me accountable,\u201d Hogg said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then went on to say that while he won\u2019t be on the MFOL board he\u2019ll still continue to \u201cvolunteer and help\u201d the group in \u201cany way I can.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
