Colion Noir appeared on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” this week to talk about the Biden-Harris plan to confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the concerns the two expressed is that while many of us active and enthusiastic 2A advocates are well aware of Biden and Harris’ support for mandatory “buyback” schemes that suddenly criminalize the possession of lawfully owned firearms and accessories thus forcing citizens to sell these items to the government or else face prosecution, vis a vis Canada<\/a> and New Zealand<\/a>, folks outside our community or on the fringes of our community generally seem unaware of or indifferent to the threat Biden-Harris pose to one’s right to keep and bear arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s hard to pinpoint a single reason for this phenomenon. Maybe due to COVID-19 and a down economy, voters’ priorities are focused elsewhere. But that doesn’t make much sense as gun sales have skyrocketed in response to the pandemic and the widespread civil unrest we’ve witnessed following the George Floyd riots. NSSF estimates that there are as many as 5 million new gun owners<\/a>! People it would seem are more cognizant of the need to keep guns for self-defense in these troubled times, not less… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe gun-rights groups and gun media have been crying “Wolf” too long on the subject of confiscation and it now falls on deaf ears. After all, despite what the NRA said during the eight years of Obama, the former president never came for our guns. Although, in truth, it’s not for lack of wanting or trying. He was thwarted by Republicans when he pushed an assault weapons ban in his second term. Which brings up a third possibility…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe there’s a belief that a GOP-controlled Senate and conservative-leaning Supreme Court would stand in the way of any significant gun control. Should Trump succeed at getting Amy Coney Barrett on the bench of the high court there would be a decisive pro-gun majority. Any unconstitutional gun law would then be on the chopping block henceforth. But that has yet to happen. And, as we saw in the recent debates, there’s no guarantee that a Biden administration wouldn’t expand the court, packing it with liberal, anti-gun justices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever the reason, I do agree with Tucker and Noir that there is a lack of urgency on this issue. The preservation of our Second Amendment isn’t being talked about with the same concern as other issues. Why do you think that is? Why aren’t more people talking about the gun-grabbing agenda of Biden-Harris? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
