One of Kyle Rittenhouse\u2019s attorneys is suing Joe Biden for libel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lin Wood, the civil attorney for the 17-year-old, announced on Twitter this week that he will proceed with a lawsuit against the Democratic presidential nominee after the Biden campaign shared a video that characterized the teen as a White supremacist.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video (see below) was posted on Wednesday, the day after the first presidential debate, and keyed on President Trump\u2019s failure to explicitly condemn White supremacy in the moment, even though he has done so in the past<\/a> and did so this week during an impromptu press briefing at the White House.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night,\u201d states the tweet.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Footage in the clip, about 12 seconds in, shows an image of Rittenhouse, suggesting that the teen is a member of Caucasian-based hate group.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, Lin Wood sought a public retraction from the Biden-Harris Campaign. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formal demand for public retraction is being prepared for Biden\/Harris Campaign on behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse.

However, later in the day, Wood indicated that a public retraction wouldn\u2019t be enough and a suit was underway. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse, I shall sue @JoeBiden & Biden\/Harris Campaign for libel,\u201d Wood tweeted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wood later added in a subsequent tweet, \u201cNo need to turn up hearing aide, Joe. You can easily hear footsteps of army for justice coming to visit you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rittenhouse is being tried as an adult and faces multiple felony charges for killing two people and wounding a third with an AR-15 during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin back in August. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those charges include intentional homicide, reckless homicide, and attempted intentional homicide.  If convicted, Rittenhouse could spend the rest of his life in prison. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attorneys for the teen claim he acted in self-defense.  Based on the available evidence, including footage from the night of the shooting, it appears the self-defense argument has merit.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the Anti-Defamation League looked over Rittenhouse\u2019s social media accounts and found no evidence the young man was associated with any hate groups, reported CBS News<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Biden-Harris campaign has not commented on Wood\u2019s plans to file a lawsuit. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
