{"id":133060,"date":"2020-08-25T12:34:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-25T16:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/?p=133060"},"modified":"2020-08-25T12:34:00","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T23:59:07","slug":"st-louis-couple-who-defended-themselves-from-blm-protesters-speak-at-2020-rnc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/st-louis-couple-who-defended-themselves-from-blm-protesters-speak-at-2020-rnc\/","title":{"rendered":"St. Louis Couple Who Defended Themselves from BLM Protesters Speak at 2020 RNC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark and Patricia McCloskey gave an address this week at the Republican National Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The McCloskeys, you may recall, made<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/armed-homeowners-brandish-firearms-protesters\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"st-louis-couple-who-defended-themselves-from-blm-protesters-speak-at-2020-rnc\" title=\"St. Louis Couple Who Defended Themselves from BLM Protesters Speak at 2020 RNC\"> headlines back n June<\/a> for visibly arming themselves outside their home in St. Louis when Black Lives Matter protesters and vandals trespassed on their property.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the incident, law enforcement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/st-louis-couple-who-had-firearms-seized-by-police-offered-50-free-ar-15s\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"st-louis-couple-who-defended-themselves-from-blm-protesters-speak-at-2020-rnc\" title=\"St. Louis Couple Who Defended Themselves from BLM Protesters Speak at 2020 RNC\">confiscated the couple&#8217;s AR-15<\/a> and Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner charged them with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/mccloskeys-charged-with-felony-for-waving-firearms-at-protesters-gov-vows-to-pardon\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"st-louis-couple-who-defended-themselves-from-blm-protesters-speak-at-2020-rnc\" title=\"St. Louis Couple Who Defended Themselves from BLM Protesters Speak at 2020 RNC\">unlawful use of a weapon, a class E felony.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The McCloskeys, who own a personal injury law firm in the area, have argued all along that they were well within their right to act in the manner they did, both under the U.S. Constitution and Missouri&#8217;s Castle Doctrine law.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/mccloskeys-charged-with-felony-for-waving-firearms-at-protesters-gov-vows-to-pardon\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"st-louis-couple-who-defended-themselves-from-blm-protesters-speak-at-2020-rnc\" title=\"St. Louis Couple Who Defended Themselves from BLM Protesters Speak at 2020 RNC\">McCloskeys Charged with Felony for Waving Firearms at Protesters, Gov.
