SIG Sauer is releasing a new SAS or SIG Anti-Snag pistol<\/a> with an FT Bullseye day and night sight. This sleek everyday carry pistol is based on the P938, SIG’s single-action, single-stack micro-compact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SIG’s SAS treatment is nothing new but recently the company’s taken it to another level thanks to the FT Bullseye sight by Meprolight. The FT Bullseye is a completely different kind of sight system that works a little like an ultra-compact red dot sight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advantage of the Bullseye is that it’s self-contained and can be machined flush into the slide. This way nothing sticks out above the slide, not even the sights, to reduce the chance that the pistol will snag on the draw. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FT Bullseye is a hybrid fiber-optic sight for daytime brightness that has tritium lamps for visibility at night and in low-light situations. If there’s one caveat it’s that these sights require practice to use because they’re just different than conventional sights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The P938 was already a solid contender for deep concealment. Chambered for 9mm Luger these pistols weigh just 16 ounces unloaded and measure in at 5.5 inches long by 3.8 inches tall and just barely over an inch wide at the controls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As single-action pistols with a manual safety, they can be safely carried with body bands and other holstering solutions under form-fitting clothes from athletic wear to professional office attire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem with carrying under tight-fitting clothes is that there is a real potential for the gun to snag, especially in high-stress situations. SIG’s SAS treatment was developed specifically to address that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their SAS pistols are completely de-horned, with sharp corners and edges rounded off. The Bullseye takes things a step further and eliminates raised sights altogether. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other features help make the P938 SAS easy to control like the wrap-around Hogue rubber grips, extended magazine and checkered backstrap. The controls are also checkered or serrated including the trigger face, the safeties, the slide stop, the hammer, and the magazine release button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the SAS treatment, this is the same P938 people have come to trust for self-defense and concealed-carry every day nationwide. It’s got a stainless steel slide and 3-inch carbon steel barrel joining a light alloy frame. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The slide assembly has a black nitride finish for wear resistance and improved lubricity and the frame has a black anodized finish. It ships with one 7-round magazine. Flush-fitting 6-round and extended 7-round magazines are available separately. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pistol has ambidextrous safety levers making it a viable carry option for left-handed shooters as well. The P938 is just now shipping so availability may be limited at first. Pricing is expected to be in the $700 to $800 range which is very competitive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
