The McCloskey\u2019s claim that the group trespassed on private\nproperty by entering their community, and while the bulk of the protesters were\npeaceful, they observed two individuals threatening violence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;My clients, though, had to deal with comments that were from two individuals that were perpetrating these acts of violence and, not charging, but coming toward them and doing so in a fashion that was threatening, menacing, and in a fashion inconsistent with the Black Lives Matter message,\u201d the McCloskey\u2019s lawyer, Al Watkins, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/armed-st-louis-rioters-threatened-couple-guns-attorney?fbclid=IwAR3_axlGq2KT4PUz_bELhjInpD4UBhfwvhIIJqw8_8kbF_ltg9ecNfsy-dw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"armed-homeowners-brandish-firearms-protesters\" title=\"Armed Homeowners Brandish Firearms as BLM Protesters Break into Gated Neighborhood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark McCloskey, who along with his wife works as a lawyer, was more vivid in his descriptions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;A mob of at least 100 smashed through the historic wrought iron gates of Portland Place, destroying them, rushed towards my home where my family was having dinner outside and put us in fear for our lives,&#8221; McCloskey told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kmov.com\/news\/st-louis-couple-seen-pointing-guns-at-protestors\/article_afbb1b2c-b98e-11ea-ba7e-b3452007bfc8.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"armed-homeowners-brandish-firearms-protesters\" title=\"Armed Homeowners Brandish Firearms as BLM Protesters Break into Gated Neighborhood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">KMOV4<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is all private property. There are no public sidewalks or public streets,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe were told that we would be killed, our home burned and our dog killed. It is not clear when the gate was destroyed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rasheen Aldridge helped lead the protest, and he doesn\u2019t believe\ntheir trespass on private property is relevant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJust like in many disobedient protests, even in the 60s,\nyou break laws, make people feel uncomfortable. We\u2019re not doing anything where\nwe\u2019re hurting anyone or putting anyone in danger,\u201d he told KMOV4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident sparked a minor controversy in the pro-gun community as well. It is unclear whether protesters trespassed on the McCloskey\u2019s property, but they are not allowed to be in the gated community, Walker told the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/news\/local\/crime-and-courts\/st-louis-couple-who-pointed-guns-at-protesters-saw-threat-by-bad-actors-lawyer-says\/article_bd402520-4f02-5d63-8d07-a38632f28585.html#:~:text=St.%20Louis%20Circuit%20Attorney%20Kimberly,guns%20and%20a%20violent%20assault.%E2%80%9D\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"armed-homeowners-brandish-firearms-protesters\" title=\"Armed Homeowners Brandish Firearms as BLM Protesters Break into Gated Neighborhood\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner issued a\nstatement on Twitter voicing her \u201calarm\u201d at reports stating that \u201cpeaceful protesters\u201d\nwere met by \u201cguns and violent assault.\u201d She vowed to \u201cuse the full power of Missouri\nlaw\u201d to hold those accountable who threatened the protesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, no charges have been filed against the McCloskeys.
