If the COVID-19 pandemic and the more recent riots have made one thing clear, it\u2019s that the Second Amendment is more important than ever. Especially in American cities, the line between civilization and chaos is blurring, and legally armed citizens of all races are taking up arms to defend themselves, their families, and their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philly Gun Shop Owner Shoots, Kills Looter<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Local media out of Philadelphia is reporting<\/a> that a gun shop owner shot and killed a man trying to break into his store Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 67-year-old owner of Firing Line Inc. was spending the night in his shop to defend it from looters. He saw three or four men trying to break in around 4:15 a.m. When the men made it upstairs, he began shooting with what media says was a \u201cBushmaster M-4\u201d rifle. One of the looters was hit in the head, and he died at the scene. The others ran away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The business owner was not hurt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBlack Militias\u201d Guarding Black-Owned Businesses<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This video emerged shortly after the first riots began in\nMinneapolis. The men probably aren\u2019t carrying fully automatic rifles, but\nGunsAmerica confirmed that they\u2019re standing in front of a black-owned business\nin Minneapolis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Return of Rooftop Koreans<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the 1992 L.A. race riots, Korean-American business owners took up arms<\/a> to protect their stores from rioters when police wouldn\u2019t. They became known as \u201croof Koreans,\u201d and a similar scene is unfolding today in American cities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also support my community in protecting their businesses and homes from looting while armed

Asians will not be passive. We will defend what\u2019s ours!

Storefront Sikhs? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An image posted on Reddit also made the rounds on social\nmedia. It depicts a group of three middle eastern men guarding what appears to\nbe a convenience store. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bakery Italians?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Local media in Cleveland, Ohio, reported<\/a> that the owner of an Italian restaurant, along with his sons, defended their property armed with shotguns. Co-Owner Selena Corbo says she supports the cause but doesn\u2019t condone the violence. She says they had no choice but to protect their business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey came at us with bats, threw rocks at our windows,\nrocks, and stones and I was like, alright,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Heroic Security Guard<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These business owners have good reason to defend themselves\nwith firearms\u2014rioters have reportedly been stealing the duty rifles from patrol\ncars. In one instance, however, the private security guard for a journalist\ndisarmed a rioter as soon as he pulled the rifle from the car:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The owner of Broadway Wine & Spirits in Santa Monica, Ca., gathered with his friends to arm up and keep their businesses safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He told local media<\/a> that when looters arrived in their area, they passed by his store when they saw the AR-15s and other firearms carried by him and his friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a good thing I had my customers and friends by my\nside, because it was pretty scary,\u201d Joe told CBSLA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
