<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gun-buying frenzy spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic includes not only first-time gun buyers but also Hollywood types and A-list celebrities, according to a report published in Los Angeles Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taran Butler, owner of the now-famous Taran Tactical\nInnovations just outside of L.A., told the publication that he\u2019s seen an uptick\nin his rich-and-famous clientele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA lot of liberal people that before were like, \u2018Nah, I\ndon\u2019t need a gun\u2019 are over here buying guns hand over fist,\u201d Butler said. \u201cI\nsell them guns with a laser flashlight on it, so that way it\u2019s intimidating.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The magazine reports that Joel Kinnaman, best known for his\nroles in Suicide Squad <\/em>and Altered Carbon, <\/em>visited Butler\u2019s shop\nwith his Victoria\u2019s Secret model girlfriend Kelly Gale to purchase a handgun to\ndefend themselves in case of civil unrest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube star Logan Paul also made an appearance<\/a> last week, according to a review of Taran Tactical\u2019s Instagram page, and Josh Duhamel<\/a> was there two weeks ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Butler made a name for himself training actors in firearms\nmanipulation, and his client list has included Keanu Reeves, Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d\nJohnson, Halle Berry, and Michael B. Jordan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrities aren\u2019t the only group looking to the Second\nAmendment to survive the coming apocalypse. Reports from around the country indicate\nthat at least some percentage of first-time gun owners had previously supported\ndraconian gun control laws. Now that these individuals are learning about the\ngun purchasing process first-hand, their opinions are changing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An article published in the conservative media outlet RedState<\/a> included an interview from a gun shop owner in California whose new clientele can\u2019t believe how difficult it is to buy a gun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMore than a dozen of these buyers (men and women) actually\nthought that since they filled out and signed everything, they could just walk\nout and go home with the firearm. Several actually said they saw how easy it\nwas to buy a gun on TV and why did they have to fill out all these forms,\u201d said\nGregg Bouslog, owner of On-Target Indoor Shooting Range in Laguna Niguel,\nCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe pointed out that since no one working here voted for\nthese laws, then maybe they might know someone who did. And, maybe they should\ngo back and talk to those people and tell them to re-think their position on\nfirearms \u2013 we were trying to be nice,\u201d Bouslog continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMost were VERY vocal about why it takes 10 days minimum\n(sometimes longer if the DOJ is backed up) to take their property home with\nthem. They ask why do I need to wait 10 days if I need the protection today or\ntomorrow? We pointed out again that no one working here voted in support of\nthat law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey really went crazy when we told them that for each\nfirearm they had to do the same amount of paperwork and they could only\npurchase ONE handgun every 30 days. Again, we didn\u2019t [vote] for that law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FBI conducted over 3.7 million background checks for gun purchases in March, shattering the previous record and exceeding the number of checks purchased after Barack Obama won a second term in the White House. The number of checks dropped to 2.9 million last month, though that\u2019s still one of the highest months on record. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
