Springfield Armory is going big-bore with its newest addition to the Saint series. The new Saint Victor is a compact AR-pattern pistol chambered for .308 Winchester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Saint Victor Pistol in .308 gives shooters a premium featured AR pistol that delivers serious power in a small, lightweight and easily maneuverable platform,\u201d said Steve Kramer, Springfield’s VP of Marketing. \u201cIf you want a SAINT Pistol that offers more power than 5.56, then this is the one for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like other guns in the Saint series, the Victor Pistol in .308 combines Springfield components with premium parts from the AR aftermarket from companies including Magpul and Bravo Company Manufacturing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a pistol the newest Victor comes with a SB Tactical SBA3 5-position adjustable brace on a carbine receiver extension. It uses a BCM Mod 3 pistol grip and uses Springfield’s side-locking Saint free-floating modular M-Lok handguard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a 10.3-inch barrel the overall package measures in at just over 28 inches long with the brace collapsed. At around 8.5 pounds the Saint Victor Pistol .308 isn’t particularly heavy owing to its small size. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said Springfield didn’t optimize this with lightweight parts. It uses standard components including forged 7075-T6 alloy receivers and a heavy tungsten carbine buffer. The lower receiver features an integral trigger guard and a tensioning screw to eliminate rattle between the upper and lower. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The barrel is chromoly steel and the bolt carrier group is 9310 steel and the bolt, bolt carrier and barrel have a black nitride Melonite finish. The bolt is also high pressure-tested and magnetic particle-inspected. At the end of the barrel there is a two-piece Blast Diverter muzzle device to handle the concussion when firing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even with the blast deflector the boom coming out of these will be substantial. While there’s no doubt that this is a serious firearm suitable for self-defense, hunting and other shooting roles, a .308 with such a short barrel will also be a real head-turner at the range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Saint Victor Pistol in .308 should be a fireball machine and it has “fun gun” written all over it. With a suggested retail price of $1,363 the Victor Pistol .308 should sell in stores and online at a competitive price point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
