Your Fries Aren't Cooked'\" class=\"wp-image-35702\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/alan-gottlieb.jpg 600w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/alan-gottlieb-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/alan-gottlieb-400x266.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption>Alan Gottlieb, Chairman of CCRKBA.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BELLEVUE, WA<\/strong> \u2013 Gun prohibitionists complaining about so-called \u201cdrive through\u201d gun sales under a new ATF Guidance issued recently to address problems related to the COVID-19 crisis are misrepresenting the facts, making it appear that it is easier to buy a firearm than fast food, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d\ntell anybody who really believes it\u2019s easier to buy a cheeseburger than a gun\nthat his \u2018fries aren\u2019t cooked,\u2019 and I\u2019m not talking about food,\u201d quipped CCRKBA\nChairman Alan Gottlieb. \u201cThis is the kind of nonsense gun owners have been\nputting up with for years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ATF\nguidance issued April 10 allows federally-licensed dealers to conduct business \u201cactivities\non any part of the business premises, including the exterior of the\nbrick-and-mortar structure, provided, the activity otherwise complies with all\napplicable federal laws and regulations, and any sale, delivery, or disposition\nwould not violate any State law or published ordinance applicable at the place\nof sale, delivery, or other disposition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat\nthat means is no firearms can be sold without full compliance with federal and\nstate laws,\u201d Gottlieb noted. \u201cSuggesting that a transaction conducted outside\nof a business is any different or easier than one conducted inside the door is\ndeliberately misleading. Anybody who believes such nonsense probably thinks a\nchili-dog and chocolate shake is health food.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ngun prohibition lobby has portrayed these new guidelines as \u201cdrive-through gun\nsales.\u201d Gottlieb said this is a false characterization, \u201cand they know it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor years,\u201d he observed, \u201canti-gunners have perpetuated a myth about \u2018easy access to guns,\u2019 but lately, as many first-time gun buyers have learned, it\u2019s not at all easy to buy a firearm, especially a handgun or semi-auto rifle. There is paperwork, a background check and a waiting period in most jurisdictions. You simply cannot walk into a gun store, give a clerk some money and walk out with a firearm. Thanks to the coronavirus scare, a lot of people have learned they\u2019ve been lied to.
