Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said so long to the presidential race and now it\u2019s a Biden vs. Trump bout coming up in November. Progressive Sen. Sanders has undoubtedly pushed Democrats to the left, but it\u2019s former Vice President Biden who has made gun control a rallying cry. For left-leaning voters, it\u2019s a \u201cdance with the one who brought you\u201d situation and the #GUNVOTE will matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the coronavirus pandemic,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com\/fonteva-customer-media\/00D15000000NbUBEA0\/tUrifuOj_2020_03_NSSF_NICS_graphs_pdf\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\"><strong>hundreds of thousands<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;of new gun owners hopped off the fence, made a purchase and exercised their Second Amendment right to protect themselves, their families and their homes and property. They\u2019re now going to be confronted with a presidential candidate who made a career and a campaign of doing everything to blunt their ability to lawfully own and possess firearms. There\u2019s no shortage of&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/joe-bidens-150-million-gun-deaths-democratic-debate-error-didnt-happen-in-a-vacuum\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\">gaffes<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;distortions and misstatements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Keeping Communities Safe<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Local firearm retailers, manufacturers and businesses by now should know the deal. Biden has repeatedly\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/im-coming-for-you-biden-threatens-gun-makers-at-south-carolina-rally\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\">proclaimed<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m coming after you. Period.\u201d That would be a big mistake. The firearm industry makes the free exercise of Second Amendment rights possible. It\u2019s also the industry that supplies the U.S. military with the small arms and ammunition needed to defend the nation. On top of that, the firearm industry provides law enforcement with their firearm and ammunition needs, including those agents in dark suits and sunglasses that surrounded the former vice president for eight years. Top that off with the fact the industry buoys thousands of communities across the country through jobs and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/government-relations\/impact\/?utm_source=grupdate&amp;utm_medium=text&amp;utm_content=govrel\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\"><strong>economic support<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0That is more than 332,000 jobs, and an economic impact of $60 billion in 2019 to be specific. In fact, the industry grew 213 percent since Biden was sworn in as President Barack Obama\u2019s vice president in 2008. Sinking an industry to score political points isn\u2019t winning strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Record to Lose Votes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 100 million law-abiding Americans own firearms, hundreds of thousands of them recent first-time owners. As they tune in and learn more about the candidates\u2019 records, Biden\u2019s words might surprise them. He repeats the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/biden-spins-tales-on-firearm-manufactures-liability\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\"><strong>false claim<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;that gun manufactures are immune to lawsuits. He\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/03\/03\/joe-biden-promises-to-put-beto-orourke-in-charge-of-gun-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\">pledged<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to appoint failed presidential candidate and former U.S. Rep. Robert Francis \u201cBeto\u201d O\u2019Rourke (D-Texas) who vowed to forcibly&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2019\/09\/12\/politics\/beto-orourke-hell-yes-take-ar-15-ak-47\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\">confiscate<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;lawfully-owned firearms as his gun grabbing sheriff. He was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/bidens-profane-response-to-second-amendment-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\"><strong>dressed down<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;by a gun-supporting worker at a Detroit auto factory who correctly pointed out Biden\u2019s own erroneous gun claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former \u201cVeep\u201d gladly takes&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ammoland.com\/2020\/03\/everytowns-endorsement-of-joe-biden-is-all-gun-owners-need-to-know-video\/#axzz6JUOB5iVw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\">assistance<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;from gun control groups like the billionaire Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety and Brady Campaign, all while touting his \u201ccourageous\u201d support for the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban. That legislation&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/08\/19\/no-joe-your-gun-ban-didnt-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\">did not<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;reduce criminal misuse of firearms. He calls for banning \u201csemiautomatic assault weapons,\u201d but pillorizes a rifle for cosmetic features that have nothing to do with how the gun operates. He purposely conflates semiautomatic firearms with the military\u2019s automatic firearms to scare those who don\u2019t know the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why NSSF has its&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/action.gunvote.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"bidens-gunvote-problem\" title=\"Biden\u2019s #GUNVOTE Problem\">#GUNVOTE<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;voter education campaign. It provides the candidate\u2019s real words on where they stand on issues surrounding lawful firearm owners. It also helps voters to register to vote, to get educated on the candidates\u2019 position on guns, and to not risk their rights on election day by going to the polls to&nbsp; #GUNVOTE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The election is seven months away, but voters are tuning in to how candidates will affect their lives and livelihood.
