Gottlieb\nsaid in a statement. \u201cThis is a text book example of turning honest citizens\ninto criminals by the mere stroke of a pen by the governor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOriginal capacity magazines are not dangerous or unusual,\u201d\nhe continued. \u201cThey\u2019re in common use all over the country. But the Connecticut\nlaw makes it illegal to use such magazines, which amounts to a deprivation of\nrights under federal law. Neither SAF nor our partners at CCDL could stand by\nand allow that to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attorney David Jensen is representing two individual plaintiffs, Connecticut residents Susan Ross and Domenic Basile. Both women are legally licensed to carry handguns, but their firearms use magazines holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition. They \u201cjustifiably worry that they could be prosecuted for carrying fully-loaded defensive sidearms under the state law,\u201d according to the SAF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/connecticut-gun-owners-protest-proposed-ammo-tax\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"saf-sues-connecticut-mag-ban\" title=\"Second Amendment Foundation Sues Connecticut Over 10-Round Mag Ban\">Connecticut Gun Owners Protest Proposed Ammo Tax<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nsuit alleges that the 10-round limit infringes on the plaintiffs\u2019 Second and\nFourteenth Amendment rights. Since magazines holding more than 10 rounds are in\n\u201ccommon use for lawful purposes,\u201d firearms holding more than 10 rounds are\ntherefore neither dangerous nor unusual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\naddition, according to the suit, greater ammunition capacity provides a better\ndefense against would-be attackers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA\nperson with 15 rounds of ammunition available will be better able to defend himself\nor herself from a criminal gang, or from a drug-crazed criminal who continues\nattacking even after being shot, than a person who has only 10 rounds of\nammunition available before they must reload their gun,\u201d the suit reads. \u201cA\nperson with a disability or who has been injured by a violent attacker may be\nunable to reload his or her firearm, and thus, the statutory 10-round magazine\nloading limit can severely compromise such a person\u2019s ability to defend himself\nor herself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/watch-connecticut-woman-calls-out-beto-for-his-bullsht\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"saf-sues-connecticut-mag-ban\" title=\"Second Amendment Foundation Sues Connecticut Over 10-Round Mag Ban\">Watch: Connecticut Woman Calls Out Beto for His \u2018BullSh*t\u2019<\/a> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Connecticut instituted a magazine ban following the massacre\nat Sandy Hook elementary. Magazines owned before the law took effect could still\nbe possessed, but users are only allowed to load 10 rounds, even if the\nmagazine can hold more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jensen said in a statement that the law \u201cseverely limits the\nright to self-defense, while doing nothing to prevent future tragedies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNothing is more emblematic of this than the State&#8217;s requirement that lawful gun owners load their legally owned magazines to <em>less<\/em> than their full capacity as a means of supposedly inhibiting future mass murders,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe are pleased to help get this ridiculous restriction off the books.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>***<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/\" campaign=\"SHOT2020_BuySellGA\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\">Buy and Sell on GunsAmerica!
