<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everytown for Gun Safety announced on Monday a massive, $60 million spending plan directed at electing anti-gun candidates in the 2020 presidential and congressional elections. Everytown is funded primarily by Michael Bloomberg, who is himself a candidate in the Democratic presidential primary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spending spree will nearly double the $36 million that the National Rifle Association spent to elect President Trump in 2016, according to The Hill<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For their part, Everytown denies that their coffers have\nbeen super-charged by Mike \u201cDaddy Warbucks\u201d Bloomberg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis massive 2020 effort is fueled by a combination of\nfinancial resources, unprecedented grassroots power and a consensus among more\nthan 90 percent of Americans across party lines that we need action now to\nreduce gun violence,\u201d Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, a part of\nEverytown for Gun Safety, said in the press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms\n(CCRKBA) notes how Bloomberg is targeting the White House using the same\nstrategy he used to turn Virginia from red to blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVirginia was a test of Bloomberg\u2019s buying power,\u201d CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb said in a press release, \u201cand look how that has worked out. Now his gun prohibition lobbying group is promising to roll out the big bucks to buy state legislative and congressional races nationwide. He is weaponizing his wealth in an attempt to purchase the presidency, along with Capitol Hill and every state legislature in hopes of forcing every American to live under his dictates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everytown is planning to target Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin in the upcoming year. Specifically, they have their sights set on Republican Senators Cory Gardner of Colorado and Martha McSally of Arizona to help win Democrats control of the Senate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gottlieb encourages gun owners to engage in their local political scene to push back against big-money, out-of-state advertising and campaigning. Concerned citizens must be registered to vote at their current address, and make sure their friends and family members are registered as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizing get-out-the-vote efforts and becoming directly\ninvolved in political campaigns for pro-2A candidates will also be essential in\nthe upcoming election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Virginia so powerfully demonstrates, waiting until an\nelection is over is never a winning strategy. Even though the grassroots\nefforts in Virginia have been historic, state Democrats don\u2019t appear to be\nswayed by the show of support for the Second Amendment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMichael Bloomberg\u2019s wealth does not give him the right to determine anyone else\u2019s rights,\u201d Gottlieb said. \u201cAmerica\u2019s gun owners can\u2019t let this country go on the auction block. There are no dollar signs on the Bill of Rights, not now, not ever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
