The Ranger 22 has an aluminum receiver but utilizes steel locking lugs for strength and durability. The hand-lapped 18\u201d carbon fiber tensioned barrel carries the Christensen Arms sub-moa accuracy guarantee, though for the rimfire this is at the appropriate distance of 50 yards. The muzzle is threaded \u00bd x 28 tpi for attachment of a suppressor if desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atop the receiver is a 0-degree Picatinny rail for mounting the needed optics. Whether the Ranger 22 is used for plinking, small game, or rimfire precision matches this should be adequate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flyweight action and barrel are mounted in a Christensen Arms carbon fiber rimfire stock. This stock is very well designed with vertical grip, a generous palm swell, a flat fore-end, a palm hook for the support hand, and a sticky recoil pad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The action is fed from the very reliable 10\/22 style 10 round rotary magazines. The bolt handle on the action is a bit longer than expected and adds the leverage to make action operation effortless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Triggertech Field trigger is used to send the little 40-grain rimfire pills downrange. However, any Remington 700 compatible trigger will fit the Christensen Arms Ranger 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting the Ranger 22 at the range was an absolute pleasure and it managed hits out to the 100-yard targets before it was impossible to see the small impacts on the steel targets. The MSRP for the Ranger 22 is $795 and are heading to the dealers now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
