of respondents who support banning \u201chigh capacity magazines\u201d has increased from 65 percent in 2017 to 71 percent in 2019. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the subject of banning \u201cassault-style weapons,\u201d there was a more modest uptick from 68 percent in 2017 to 69 percent in 2019. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/FT_19.10.08_GunUpdate_1.png\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" more strict, 11 percent said less strict and 28 percent said they were about right compared to two years ago when those percentages were 52, 30 and 18 respectively. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure it\u2019s a small sample size.&nbsp; Pew does have graphs and charts that examine these questions over a much longer time span.&nbsp; And what you tend to see is that these percentages ebb and flow over the years. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A good example is on the question of whether it is more important to \u201ccontrol gun ownership\u201d or \u201cprotect the right of Americans to own guns.\u201d\u00a0 On this, Pew has charted the trend lines going back roughly two decades in their latest press release, as you\u2019ll see below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a sentiment on gun control.\u00a0 It reminds us that our work, our efforts to win hearts and minds, is never done. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a
