\u201cShotgun<\/a>\u201d Joe Biden unveiled a plan Wednesday<\/a> to address what he calls the \u201cgun violence epidemic<\/a>\u201d in America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the top of the agenda is to force owners of black rifles into a double bind, that is the impossible choice between registration and confiscation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBiden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets,\u201d the plan reads. \u201cThis will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current frontrunner to win the Democratic nomination for president also wants to ban the manufacture and sale of black rifles and mags with a capacity greater than 10 rounds, institute a one-gun-per-month purchase rule, bankrupt the gun industry <\/a>by terminating the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, criminalize the sale of private transfers, weaponize the ATF and DOJ to confiscate firearms, and much, much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Biden aide touted the former vice president\u2019s record on gun control to CNN<\/a>, pointing out that “SleepyCreepyJoe<\/a>,” as President Trump calls him, helped to push through the Clinton-era ban on \u201cassault weapons.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Joe Biden has been pushing the conversation on guns for at least the past 25 years, and he’s the only Democratic presidential candidate who on the national stage has defeated the National Rifle Association — and he’s done it twice,” said the aide, the \u201csecond time\u201d referring to the 1993 Brady Bill.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aide went onto say that while some of the measures could be strong-armed into law via executive action, the majority would need the support of Congress.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden “thinks that, from that experience and from seeing President Trump reverse some of the executive actions — especially executive action on gun violence that he worked on — that legislation [as opposed to executive action] is really, you know, the key here, to ensure we have lasting change,\u201d explained the aide.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShotgun\u201d Joe leads the field of Democratic challengers with 27 percent, according to RealClearPolitics<\/a>.  Though, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are nipping at his heels, with 23 and 17 percent respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
