{"id":115894,"date":"2019-09-18T17:54:59","date_gmt":"2019-09-18T21:54:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/?p=115894"},"modified":"2019-09-18T17:54:59","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T04:20:12","slug":"assemblywoman-you-cant-get-semiautomatic-ammunition-in-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/assemblywoman-you-cant-get-semiautomatic-ammunition-in-california\/","title":{"rendered":"Assemblywoman: \u2018You can\u2019t get the semiautomatic ammunition in California\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>California Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer-Kahan is demanding the U.S. Senate \u201cdo something\u201d to end gun violence. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview last month with Youtube\u2019s Nuance Bro (see video above),  the Democrat who represents the state\u2019s 16th district, explained what action she wants Congress to take on guns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWell, there\u2019s a lot of things I could list.&nbsp; I would love to see a ban on semiautomatic weapons, and the ammunition that goes with them but right now we\u2019re working on background checks,\u201d she says with an air of confidence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wait, what?&nbsp; Did she really just say ban<em> all semiautos and the <strong>ammo<\/strong> that goes with \u2018em<\/em>??? &nbsp;Banning semiauto ammo would mean banning most categories of firearms.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuance Bro did what any credible journalist would do in his position and asked for her to clarify her radically inane statement. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI would like [the U.S.] to mirror California&#8217;s gun laws,\u201d she says to sum up her stance. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But you can buy semiautomatic handguns in California, he responds.&nbsp; To which she says, \u201cWell, we\u2019ve banned the bump stock.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Huh?&nbsp; WTF!!!  But wait, it gets better&nbsp;(and by \u201cbetter,\u201d I mean dumber). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/springfield-victor-rifle-unboxed\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"assemblywoman-you-cant-get-semiautomatic-ammunition-in-california\" title=\"Assemblywoman: \u2018You can\u2019t get the semiautomatic ammunition in California\u2019\">Springfield SAINT Victor Rifle Unboxed at the Gun Counter<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When he politely informs her that the federal government banned bump stocks she scrambles and changes her tune, dropping this beauty of a line in the process, \u201cYou can\u2019t get the semiautomatic ammunition here in California.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m almost at a loss for words; her ignorance is astounding!  Again, he asks her to explain.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat semiautomatic ammunition?\u201d says Nuance Bro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe large magazines,\u201d she says. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s break this down.&nbsp; Assemblywoman Bauer-Kahan, who is an environmental attorney who taught appellate law at Santa Clara University, does not know the difference between semiautomatic firearms and bump stocks nor the difference between a cartridge and a magazine.&nbsp; Yet, she is actively protesting to&nbsp;strip away the 2A rights of law-abiding citizens nationwide.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For someone who is so passionate about gun control, you would think that she, especially being a law professor and an elected official, would have at least a cursory knowledge of guns, gun parts, and gun regulations, right?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She clearly does not.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GunsAmerica reached out to Bauer-Kahan via Facebook to see if she&#8217;d like to talk guns some more.  Funny thing though, she never got back to us.
