SCCY Firearms is releasing a new concealed-carry pistol chambered for .380 ACP. Called the CPX-4<\/a>, the new handgun expands SCCY’s lineup of simple and affordable pistols for personal protection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CPX-4 is a compact double-stack pistol with a double-action trigger and internal hammer. It shares the same basic design as the rest of the CPX series, including a stainless steel slide assembly and 7075-T6 receiver with a polymer grip housing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not a tiny pistol with its double-stack frame, but it is fairly compact at just under 5 inches tall, just over 5.5 inches long, and it’s lightweight at just 15 ounces unloaded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The difference between the CPX-4 and the earlier CPX-3 is that the fourth model has ambidextrous manual safety levers, while the third model has no manual safeties. Since the majority of polymer-framed pistols are striker-fired with passive trigger safeties, the CPX-4 will appeal to a specific segment of the concealed-carry market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What separates both the CPX-3 and CPX-4 from most .380s is that the design features a locked breech. Combined with the ergonomic grip and optional extended magazine baseplate, these guns have a lot less felt recoil than straight-blowback pistols. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its 10+1-round capacity, the CPX-4 holds an above-average number of rounds compared to a lot of other .380 pistols. At launch, SCCY is offering the pistol with two color options, with a black nitride or natural stainless slide. Both have plain black grips for now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Down the line, other color combinations are likely as SCCY likes to give customers options, including common “tactical” colors but also unusual and vibrant shades like crimson, purple and “SCCY Blue.” They also carry models with Kryptec, Muddy Girl and other camo patterns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course the biggest selling point going for the CPX-4, like the rest of the CPX series, is its low price. The CPX-4 carries a $305 suggested retail price, with in-store and online prices<\/a> starting in the mid- to low-$200 range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For that money the CPX-4 comes with three 10-round magazines and a custom-fitting trigger guard lock. Holsters, sights and other accessories including lasers are already available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
