As leftists like Robert \u201cBeto\u201d O\u2019Rourke pontificate<\/a> about white nationalism and gun control, the Democrats are dealing with their own forms of political violence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A group of supporters attending a fundraiser for Democratic Illinois State Sen. Martin Sandoval were caught on camera this week enacting a fake execution of President Donald Trump. One of the supporters appears dressed in Mexican clothing and a Trump mask while another points what appears to be a fake, gold-plated Tommy Gun at the President\u2019s head. Each attendee paid $250 to attend the senator\u2019s event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It isn\u2019t clear if Sandoval knew about the stunt, according to local outlet WCIA<\/a>, but he is pictured posing at the same event with the man who held the gun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state senator issued an apology after a wave of\ncondemnation from social media users and fellow politicians alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe incident that took place is unacceptable,\u201d Sandoval\nsaid in a statement, according to local media. \u201cI don\u2019t condone violence toward\nthe President or anyone else. I apologize that something like this happened at\nmy event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Republican Rep. Steve Scalise, who was himself the victim of\na politically-motivated attack in 2017, called on Democrats at large to condemn\nthe violence within their own party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am glad [Sandoval] took ownership, and said he was wrong,\u201d Scalise told Fox News<\/a>. \u201cWhat disappoints me is that you don\u2019t see any kind of outrage from the left. You don\u2019t see any of our presidential candidates on the left\u2026 denouncing it. And that\u2019s really where it should start. The leadership at the top of the Democratic Party has been noticeably silent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Democratic Party of Illinois issued a statement\ncondemning the fake execution but failed to mention the recent mass murder in\nDayton, which was carried about by a member of the Democratic party and an\nElizabeth Warren supporter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe tragedies in El Paso and Gilroy have demonstrated how\nhate-filled political rhetoric can fuel violence,\u201d Maura Possley, a\nspokesperson for the Democratic Party of Illinois, said. \u201cThese images are\nunacceptable and dangerous. The place to make our voices heard against Trump is\nat the ballot box.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 24-year-old man who murdered 9 people and injured 27 others in Dayton, Ohio, expressed radical support for Democratic party politics, according to the Washington Examiner<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The registered Democrat\u2019s now-suspended Twitter bio read, \u201che\/him \/ anime fan \/ metalhead \/\nleftist \/ i\u2019m going to hell and i\u2019m not coming back.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man condemned Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and said in another tweet, \u201cI want socialism, and i’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also expressed support for gun control, tweeting in 2018, “This is America: Guns on every corner, guns in every house, no freedom but that to kill.\u201d He also tweeted to Ohio Sen. Rob Portman on the day of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre, “@robportman hey rob. How much did they pay you to look the other way? 17 kids are dead. If not now, when?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politically motivated violence, it seems, isn\u2019t limited to the right side of the aisle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
