Mossberg is expanding their new line of small single-stack, striker-fired pistols for concealed-carry chambered in 9mm Luger. They’re adding two new two-tone models, one with a passive trigger safety<\/a> and one with an additional manual cross-bolt safety<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MC1sc series is the company’s newest line of handguns and its first in nearly a century. It’s a modern glass-reinforced polymer-framed design with a stainless steel barrel and slide, and a reversible magazine release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-tone options have 416 stainless steel slides with a matte finish. They have 3.4-inch 416 stainless steel button-rifled barrels with a 1:16 twist and a matte black diamond-like coating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They feed from 6-round flush magazines or 7-round extended mags. The magazines feature clear mag bodies to easily check the loaded round count. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mossberg gave the MC1sc an ergonomic checkered grip with very light fingergrooves and a generous beavertail. With flush magazines the pistols have a two-finger grip and a short overall height of just 4.3 inches tall. They’re 6.25 inches long and a hair over 1 inch thick at the widest point. They have an unloaded weight of 19 ounces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All MC1sc pistols have flat-faced triggers with integral blade safeties. It’s a double-action trigger system rated between 5 and 6 pounds. The optional cross-bolt behind the trigger adds an extra degree of safety, which can be particularly important for people who pocket-carry or use minimalist holsters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One major standout feature of the MC1sc is its Safe Takedown System. Unlike many other striker-fired pistols, users don’t have to pull the trigger in the takedown process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To takedown an MC1sc users remove the striker retainer plate and one-piece striker assembly entirely. This eliminates the possibility of firing a chambered round unintentionally during maintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like other Mossberg products the MC1sc offers a lot of value with a suggested price of $421 and real-world prices around $100 less. The two-tone models have the same $421 MSRP and should list for the same in stores and online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both models come standard with white 3-dot sights, one 6-round and one 7-round magazine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This brings the model count up to seven<\/a> for the MC1sc series. In addition to these and their all-black counterparts, Mossberg offers MC1sc pistols with factory TruGlo tritium night sights, as well as with a Viridian laser sight and a commemorative Centennial model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
