Invest in gun buybacks around USA <br \/><br \/>Join me: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xyRqbr5I8c\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hogg-walmart-must-stop-selling-guns-and-ammo\" title=\"Hogg: Walmart Must Stop Selling Guns and Ammo\">https:\/\/t.co\/xyRqbr5I8c<\/a><\/p>\u2014 David Hogg (@davidhogg111) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/davidhogg111\/status\/1158751636065574912?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hogg-walmart-must-stop-selling-guns-and-ammo\" title=\"Hogg: Walmart Must Stop Selling Guns and Ammo\">August 6, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote> \n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walmart said publicly on Monday that it had no plans to amend its approach to selling firearms and ammunition. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s been no change in policy,&#8221; Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2019\/08\/05\/walmart-not-halting-gun-sales-despite-calls-advocates-do-so\/1920090001\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hogg-walmart-must-stop-selling-guns-and-ammo\" title=\"Hogg: Walmart Must Stop Selling Guns and Ammo\">USA Today<\/a>, noting that its focus right now was on caring for those affected by the shooting in El Paso.&nbsp; &#8220;It&#8217;s horrible &#8230; what\u2019s happened.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, though, the retail giant has made adjustments to its policies during politically charged times.\u00a0 After the shooting in Parkland, Florida last year the company announced that it<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/walmarts-ban-gun-ammo-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hogg-walmart-must-stop-selling-guns-and-ammo\" title=\"Hogg: Walmart Must Stop Selling Guns and Ammo\"> would no longer sell guns and ammo to anyone under the age of 21<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/walmart-to-stop-selling-guns-in-new-mexico-because-of-background-check-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hogg-walmart-must-stop-selling-guns-and-ammo\" title=\"Hogg: Walmart Must Stop Selling Guns and Ammo\">Walmart to Stop Selling Guns in New Mexico Because of Background Check Law<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015, Walmart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/why-walmarts-decision-to-stop-selling-ar-15s-is-unavoidably-political\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hogg-walmart-must-stop-selling-guns-and-ammo\" title=\"Hogg: Walmart Must Stop Selling Guns and Ammo\">ended the sale of modern sporting rifles<\/a>.\u00a0 It also doesn\u2019t sell handguns, except in Alaska, and refuses to transfer a firearm under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/ny-gov-cuomo-signs-bills-to-extend-waits-ban-already-banned-bump-stocks\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hogg-walmart-must-stop-selling-guns-and-ammo\" title=\"Hogg: Walmart Must Stop Selling Guns and Ammo\">\u201cdefault to proceed\u201d rule <\/a>that allows FFLs to sell guns to prospective purchasers after three days if the buyer initially receives a \u201cdelayed\u201d response during the background check process. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve always had stringent policies around how we do sell firearms from going above the federal guidelines on approving a customer before we sell the firearm to how we train our associates,&#8221; Hargrove added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that\u2019s not enough for Hogg and Igor Volsky, the founder of GDA. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWalmart is such a major player &#8230; that if they really decided to lean into this issue, we could see some real change.
