This Classic Kimber features a fine walnut stock with two-tone barrel and receiver and it’s chambered for 6.5mm Creedmoor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Kimber is well-known for their fine 1911 handguns, but they originated as a long gun manufacturer and they make very fine rifles. This summer they’ll produce a special edition of the Classic Kimber in a limited run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chambered for 6.5mm Creedmoor, Kimber fans will recognize the action from their M84 rifle. The action features a full-length Mauser-style claw extractor and three-position Model-70-style wing safety. This gun will be two-tone with a stainless barrel and receiver finished in Kimpro II black, a durable and weather-resistant finish. Kimber guarantees sub-MOA accuracy from this rifle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The silver colored stainless barrel and black action rest in a fine Claro walnut stock with hand-cut checkering and a satin finish. The stock is pillar and glass bedded for consistency. Kimber claims that their stock design reduces felt recoil because the straight comb slides back into the shoulder without biting upward into your cheek. It includes a one-inch Pachmayer Decelerator recoil pad to further soften the blow from that 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trigger is match grade and weighs about three pounds. The magazine floorplate is engraved with a specialized serial number and, “Limited Edition X of 1,000.” The floorplate release is integrated into the trigger guard to prevent accidental openings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole gun looks marvelous and at just five pounds, ten ounces, it should be a pleasure to carry hunting in the backcountry. MSRP is $1,128 and it’ll be available in time for Fall hunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
