Biden also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestate.com\/news\/politics-government\/national-politics\/article230399429.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"shotgun-joe-under-second-amendment\" title=\"Shotgun Joe Jumps In: Not Everyone 'Entitled' to Firearms Under Second Amendment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">touted<\/a> his record as \u201cthe only one who took on the NRA on the national level and won\u201d when he helped pass the 1994 \u201cassault weapons\u201d ban as the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biden, most famous for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HHZ7zXLvOkY\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"shotgun-joe-under-second-amendment\" title=\"Shotgun Joe Jumps In: Not Everyone 'Entitled' to Firearms Under Second Amendment\" target=\"_blank\">suggesting<\/a> that homeowners defend themselves by firing two shotgun blasts \u201coutside the house,\u201d is trying not to let the other 20,000 Democratic presidential candidates outflank him to the left. With Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris announcing radical gun control proposals in recent weeks, the former VP is hoping his existing anti-gun record will be enough to convince voters he\u2019s serious about restricting Second Amendment rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he\u2019s also open to new ideas. Asked by the Washington Examiner about Booker\u2019s national gun licensing proposal, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/joe-biden-pitches-fingerprint-locked-firearms-to-reduce-gun-violence\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"shotgun-joe-under-second-amendment\" title=\"Shotgun Joe Jumps In: Not Everyone 'Entitled' to Firearms Under Second Amendment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">said<\/a> he\u2019d consider it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never heard of that before, I think it\u2019s worth looking\ninto,\u201d Biden said. \u201cI don\u2019t know whether, where that is in terms of under the\nConstitution whether we\u2019re able to do that. My guess is we could.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEE ALSO:  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/biden-wants-ban-armor-piercing-rounds-via-executive-fiat\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"shotgun-joe-under-second-amendment\" title=\"Shotgun Joe Jumps In: Not Everyone 'Entitled' to Firearms Under Second Amendment\">Biden Wants to Ban \u2018Armor-Piercing\u2019 Rounds Via Executive Fiat<\/a> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While he admitted that \u201cgun licensing will not change whether or not people buy what\nweapons, what kind of weapons they can buy, where they can use them, how they\ncan store them, etc.,\u201d he believes \u201csmart\u201d guns will get the job done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pivoting back to his tenure as Barack Obama\u2019s VP, Biden told\nthe Examiner, \u201cone of the things\nwe worked on early on, and I worked on with folks out in Silicon Valley, we\nshould be able to make a weapon that, in fact, you can only, if you can buy it,\ncan only be fired with James Bond kind of stuff, if it has your print on it.\nYou\u2019re the only one that can pull the trigger. Gun manufacturers are the real problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is not just about the gun owners. It\u2019s not even about\nthe [National Rifle Association],\u201d Biden said. \u201cSixty percent of the NRA agrees\nwith what I was trying to do in the administration. They think there should be\nlimitations.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s gun manufacturers.
