(<em>Photo: News Channel 5).<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>A state lawmaker in Tennessee wants to give concealed carriers a pass when they accidentally enter a business with a \u201cno firearms\u201d policy.<\/p>\n<p>State Rep. Clark Boyd told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newschannel5.com\/news\/bill-would-grant-forgiveness-to-people-who-accidentally-ignore-no-firearms-signs-at-businesses\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"tenn-bill-concealed-carriers-no-firearms-policies\" title=\"Tenn. Bill Would Give Concealed Carriers a Pass for Violating \u2018No Firearms\u2019 Policies\">News Channel 5<\/a> that under current law anyone who violates a \u201cno firearms\u201d policy is subject to a Class B misdemeanor, which is punishable by a $500 fine.<\/p>\n<p>While no one in the past five years has been charged with such an offense, Boyd believes in clarifying the law before someone is unfairly prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p>A parent chasing a child into a store that prohibits guns is one such example Boyd cited.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you were in the business, because that circumstance happened, and someone mentioned it to you, or you saw a sign somewhere else in the building, you have broken that law,&#8221; said Rep.
