Adding a camouflage finish to your firearms and accessories is an excellent way to give it that personal touch so that out of all of the ones like it, that one is yours.\u00a0 I caught up with a company named GunSkins <\/a>that offers vinyl wrap products that can be applied at home with very little required in the way of tools or time.\u00a0 Their vinyl wraps are offered in 30 licensed camouflage patterns, in addition to other graphics, so there should be something to suit any style.<\/p>\n

GunSkins has dozens of camouflage patterns from hunting camo\u00a0to OCP to Kryptek, even the American flag.<\/p><\/div>\n

I’ve seen other companies offer similar vinyl wrap products but I don’t think anyone else has the\u00a0options and patterns that GunSkins offers.\u00a0\u00a0Not only do they make their\u00a0vinyl\u00a0wrap in the USA, but they have also\u00a0precut templates for rifles, pistols, shotguns, scopes, AR-15s, AK-47s, and magazines.\u00a0 If they don’t make a template for it then they also offer their GearSkins product that is a large sheet of their vinyl material that you can cut and shape as needed.<\/p>\n

Their rifle and shotgun templates look so good they could almost be mistaken for a hydrographic finish.<\/p><\/div>\n

Applying their vinyl wraps is very simple and all you need is a cleaner\/degreaser, razor blade, and a heat gun or hair dryer. Once you peel the backer off the vinyl and begin applying it, heat keeps it pliable and able to conform to the surface underneath.\u00a0 When done well, it could often be mistaken for a hydro-dipped finish.<\/p>\n

Due to the nature of the vinyl material itself it also won’t chip or scratch like some spray-on finishes and should provide good longterm durability.\u00a0 If the wrap does need to be replaced, it can be removed pretty easily using heat in much the same way it was applied.\u00a0 Given that this product can go on without me having to wait for it to dry or worry about fumes means that it’ll be my first choice the next time I want\u00a0to give one of my rifles a camo finish.<\/p>\n
