SHOT Show 2019\" class=\"wp-image-104579 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro7-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Aimpoint ACRO P-1 : A True Pistol Optic - SHOT Show 2019\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro7-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro7-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro7-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro7-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro7.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-104579\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new Aimpoint can be mounted on many platforms.<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Acro P-1 addresses this problem by being fully enclosed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Nothing can obstruct the LED emitter, ensuring the red dot will be usable, barring some catastrophic damage or dead battery.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>And speaking of battery, the Acro P-1 will give you one year of continuous use on daylight setting 6 of 10.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>And when it is time to change your battery, it is accessed from the side, unlike many reflex sights which require you to remove the sight to change the battery and therefore go through the process of re-zeroing your optic.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_104580\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-104580\" title=\"Aimpoint ACRO P-1 : A True Pistol Optic - SHOT Show 2019\" class=\"wp-image-104580 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Aimpoint ACRO P-1 : A True Pistol Optic - SHOT Show 2019\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro2-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro2-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro2.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-104580\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The battery compartment is easily accessed without having to remove the optic from the host weapon.<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another advantage of the new Aimpont offering is its small footprint.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Not only is it dimensionally small (1.2\u201d wide), but it uses a miniature cross bolt to attach.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The attachment method is important.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Most pistol-mounted optics attach through screws oriented vertically which creates a limitation on how deep they can be recessed into the slide before they damage the operating parts of the pistol.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The Acro P-1 mounting method allows the optic to be mounted lower for a more natural sight picture.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_104581\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-104581\" title=\"Aimpoint ACRO P-1 : A True Pistol Optic - SHOT Show 2019\" class=\"wp-image-104581 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Aimpoint ACRO P-1 : A True Pistol Optic - SHOT Show 2019\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro1-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro1-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/acro1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-104581\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The dot can be adjusted through 10 brightness settings, including 4 NVD.<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">How does all this work?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In my limited experience, great.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I shot a Glock 17 equipped with the Aimpoint Arco P-1 at the SHOT Show 2019 Range Day.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>One of the issues that can arise with pistol mounted optics is difficulty in picking up the dot.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is due to the red dot sitting at a higher elevation than your iron sights which you are used to.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The Aimpoint, due to its enclosed nature, helps the shooter immediately fix this.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When you present the pistol, if you don\u2019t see the dot right away, chances are you are seeing some shadow in the Acro P-1.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This shadow is caused by not having the optic lined up square to your eye.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In my experience, this is subconsciously recognized in the periphery and I immediately square the optic and present the dot.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is like magic.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_104582\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-104582\" title=\"Aimpoint ACRO P-1 : A True Pistol Optic -
