One of the most eye catching booths on the Shot Show floor had the name of Rex Specs<\/a> on it. How can you walk past a German Shepard wearing real goggles? It is a fact that these goggles are cool, but they also serve other purposes. Working dogs involved in law enforcement and military applications can wear the goggles in order to keep debris and other things out of their eyes while in the field.<\/p>\n

The K9 Vision Player is a video system that allows you to record what your dog sees.<\/p><\/div>\n

Hunting dogs can use Rex Specs in order to protect their eyes in brush\u00a0and from dirt, ice, and snow. This is where bird dogs spend most of their time, If your dog likes to ride in the car with its head out of the window, these goggles will protect it from road debris and wind. The tinted lenses even help dogs that have eye diseases and can’t be unprotected in the sun for too long. My point is that the applications are seemingly endless.<\/p>\n

The K9 Vision Player system is similar to the original goggles with some slight modifications.<\/p><\/div>\n

That said, Rex Specs has upped the ante with their new K9 Vision Player by installing a video camera that records what your dog sees. This new unit consists of the goggles, battery and video camera all in one. Because of the hardware that is required to make this product function, the goggles unfortunately only come in size large. The K9 Vision Player uses SD cards to store and record the video, so the amount of video stored is only limited by the size of the SD card that you choose to use. And of course, the K9 Vision Player has a built-in mic to compliment the video.<\/p>\n

The K9 Vision Player was designed to be cost-effective, streamlined and to work better than any other recording product on the market for these types of applications.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Rex Specs<\/a> K9 Vision Player uses a micro USB connection to charge the onboard battery which is located in the “ears” of the unit. This battery lasts 3-4 hours depending on conditions. The camera films in 1080p resolution. Another great thing about the video goggles is that they are supposed to be water resistant, but may very well be nearly waterproof.<\/p>\n
