(<em>Photo: Screen Shot, WREG<\/em>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Back in December, thieves stole hunting gear from 8-year-old Jayce Collum, an Arkansas resident who suffered a life-threatening injury to his spinal cord that left him paralyzed and unable to sit up on his own. The thieves pried open the door of the specialized deer blind his grandfather had built for him and took everything, including the chair he needs to overcome his disability, local media <a href=\"https:\/\/wreg.com\/2018\/12\/17\/thieves-steal-special-hunting-gear-from-disabled-arkansas-8-year-old\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hunt365-gear-disabled-arkansas-8-year-old-hunting-stolen\" title=\"Gear Pours in for Disabled Arkansas 8-Year-Old Whose Hunting Equipment was Stolen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, his family says the gifts have poured in from people living across the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There have been several people to reach out to him to replace everything and get him to be able to hunt again,&#8221; Collum&#8217;s grandfather, Glenn Shepherd, told <a href=\"https:\/\/wreg.com\/2019\/01\/03\/arkansas-8-year-old-gifted-new-hunting-gear-to-replace-his-stolen-gear\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hunt365-gear-disabled-arkansas-8-year-old-hunting-stolen\" title=\"Gear Pours in for Disabled Arkansas 8-Year-Old Whose Hunting Equipment was Stolen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local media<\/a>. \u201cWe&#8217;ve had people donate items worth thousands of dollars. It&#8217;s sometimes hard to comprehend that people do that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>SEE ALSO:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/hunt365-bows-schools-kids-outdoors-enthusiasts-hunters\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hunt365-gear-disabled-arkansas-8-year-old-hunting-stolen\" title=\"Gear Pours in for Disabled Arkansas 8-Year-Old Whose Hunting Equipment was Stolen\" rel=\"bookmark\">Bows in Schools Program Turns Kids into Outdoors Enthusiasts, Hunters<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>An Arkansas manufacturer donated a new hunting stand with a wheelchair ramp to replace the one thieves ransacked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He can sit just perfect and look out the window and wait for the deer to come in,&#8221; Glenn Shepherd said.<\/p>\n<p>Collum\u2019s mother, Kristen Shepherd, said that Buckmaster sent hats, shirts, and hoodies, and images from the family show several Vortex products, including binoculars and a red dot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just amazing to see the love and support of somebody being able to show there is more good in the world than there is bad,&#8221; Kristen Shepherd said.<\/p>\n<p>As for Collum, he plans to use his new gear as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This weekend, next weekend and then the weekend after next weekend,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Since Arkansas media first reported Collum\u2019s misfortune, the story garnered national media attention, with coverage in outlets like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2018\/12\/19\/boy-8-disability-asks-thieves-return-hunting-gear\/2360518002\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hunt365-gear-disabled-arkansas-8-year-old-hunting-stolen\" title=\"Gear Pours in for Disabled Arkansas 8-Year-Old Whose Hunting Equipment was Stolen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/great-outdoors\/disabled-8-year-old-hunter-asks-thieves-to-return-sporting-equipment-i-want-my-stuff-back\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"hunt365-gear-disabled-arkansas-8-year-old-hunting-stolen\" title=\"Gear Pours in for Disabled Arkansas 8-Year-Old Whose Hunting Equipment was Stolen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.
