Cody Wilson now faces four counts of sexual assault of a child, two charges of indecency with a child by contact, and two charges of indecency with a child by exposure.<\/p><\/div>\n

The list of criminal charges against 3D-printed gun pioneer Cody Wilson just got longer.<\/p>\n

Wilson, the founder of Defense Distributed, was arrested last September<\/a> on charges relating to sex with a juvenile female under the age of 17.<\/p>\n

But late last week, a Texas grand jury added to the case against the gun-rights activist bringing the total to four counts of sexual assault of a child, two charges of indecency with a child by contact, and two charges of indecency with a child by exposure, according to ARSTechnica<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All the charges stem from the alleged encounter Wilson had with a 16-year-old at the Archer Hotel in Austin, TX, on Aug. 15, 2018.<\/p>\n

Police say that Wilson and the victim met on the website sugardaddymeet.com<\/a>, a portal geared toward hooking up successful men with \u201cyoung and attractive\u201d women. The two exchanged text messages along with explicit photos before engaging in intercourse and oral sex, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

Wilson is also believed to have paid the girl, who has since become an adult, $500 after the affair.<\/p>\n

The attorney representing Wilson expressed disappointment with the Travis County grand jury\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Wilson at all times believed reasonably that the complaining witness was a consenting adult,\u201d said F. Andino in an interview with the Statesman.com<\/a>. \u201cWe are confident that once all of the facts are out and we have a chance to interface with the DA\u2019s office more directly that we\u2019ll be able to resolve this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following his arrest, Wilson stepped down as the head<\/a> of Defense Distributed to \u201cfocus on personal legal affairs,\u201d according to his replacement, the new DD CEO Paloma Heindorff.<\/p>\n

All of the charges Wilson faces are second-degree felonies that carry sentences of up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n

Wilson posted bail to the tune of $150,000 and remains out of jail.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s taking it one day at a time,\u201d added Reynal. \u201cObviously, this is not the kind of situation that anyone would ever wish to go through.\u201d<\/p>\n
