Offered in a pile of calibers that include 243 WIN, 7mm-08 REM, 308 WIN, 270 WSM, 300 WSM, and the ever-popular 6.5 Creedmoor, Winchester’s Renegade Long Range SR is creating a buzz. Fitted with an M.O.A. Trigger System that promises zero creep and zero travel, shooters should experience increased accuracy. Also pleasing is the Bolt Unlock Button, which allows the chamber to be unloaded with the thumb safety placed in the safe position.
Reducing the time between shots and boosting overall functionality is the Enlarged Blot Knob, and straight fluting on the body keeps weight on this long-range assassin down while increasing surface area for increased cooling. Boosting shootability and steadiness are the upright-profile pistol grip and wide, flattened fore-end on the Advanced Grayboe stock.
Boosting safety while not robbing functionality is the Two-Position Thumb Safety and cocking indicator, which can be viewed with a quick glance or simply by feel. The Muzzle is threaded (5/8 x 24 TPI) for those wanting to add a sound suppressor or virtually any other accessory that comes with a knurled thread protector.
Reducing felt recoil on the Renegade Long Range SR is the Inflex Technology Recoil Pad — a pad that directs energy down and away from your cheek. Not only does this save shoulder abuse, but also allows you the ability to stay on your target. The detachable magazine is of single-stack design and constructed from rugged polymer to ensure longevity.
MSRP is $1,069, and the rifle will be available in June of 2020.
Boy is that a really nice rifle. Looks like I need to start saving my money. I like the 308 sense I carry a m14 in Veitnam with a heavy star light scope.
