Team Trump added an anti-gun advocate to its ranks, Friday.
Anthony Scaramucci, the founder of SkyBridge Capital, was appointed to serve as communications director.
The New York financier has made several public comments on social media over the years about his support for tougher gun laws.
In the wake of the mass killing at Sandy Hook elementary school, in 2012, Scaramucci tweeted that he has “always been for strong gun control laws.”
He also implied in another tweet that owning a firearm may give the “illusion of security, but more likely to cause you harm.”
But it doesn’t stop there, he has also tweeted that when it comes to firearms “it is just common sense [to] apply more controls.” And in 2016, he tweeted “killings went down” when “guns were taken from people who put their fellow citizens at risk.”
The addition of Scaramucci, who was also a Fox News contributor, caused some turmoil at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The decision did not sit well with White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
In fact, Spicer resigned as a result of the move, telling the president that bringing Scaramucci on board was a “major mistake,” according to a report by The New York Times.
Spicer didn’t really say what his beef with Scaramucci was, and Scaramucci claimed that there was no friction between the two men.
Replacing Spicer as press secretary will be Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She’ll work with Scaramucci moving forward.
@laurasgoldman I don’t support that legislation, never had, I have always been for strong gun control laws.
— Anthony Scaramucci (@Scaramucci) December 15, 2012
Meanwhile, the change-up was celebrated by pro-gun control organization Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
“Scaramucci’s comments underscore recent national polling data: Gun violence prevention is not a partisan issue. A vast majority of Americans – including gun owners, NRA members and Republicans – overwhelmingly support common-sense gun laws,” said Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action.
“While NRA leaders may have a seat at the table in Trump’s White House, there are millions of Americans standing on the side of gun safety, possibly including the new White House Communications Director.
“It’s time for the entire White House and current administration to join us in speaking out against gun violence and eradicate the gun lobby’s ‘guns everywhere, for anyone’ agenda,” she continued.
Daily liquidity in alts = keeping a gun in home. Illusion of security, but more likely to cause you harm

One bad apple doesn’t ruin the entire bunch. But it appears this new guy is one to keep an eye on.
UPDATE: 7/25/17
To the chagrin of Shannon Watts and co., Sacramucci deleted his tweets supporting gun control. Here’s what he had to say:
Full transparency: I’m deleting old tweets. Past views evolved & shouldn’t be a distraction. I serve @POTUS agenda & that’s all that matters
— Anthony Scaramucci (@Scaramucci) July 22, 2017
To which Shannon Watts responded:
.@Scaramucci deleted tweets to please Donald Trump and the @NRA. But the Internet is forever, and so is the truth: gun violence is a crisis. pic.twitter.com/CG6JKb6057

Scaramucci’s been fired again. Apparently the President’s savvy enough to keep a reflexive F-bomber out of the office of White House Director of Communications. Which has to be a relief for the White House spokesman, whose father can’t have cottoned to that kind of language.
It is frustrating to read so many “OUR SIDE VERSUS THEIR SIDE” posts on here. As long as they keep us distracted over “hot bed” issues, these politicians think we won’t notice the way both parties have failed us for decades. Aside from making us look like an embarrassment to the rest of the World, the only thing Trump is accomplishing is teaching the American people that an egotistical blowhard who tries to promise everything to everyone is not going to make us “Great”.
We have to start worrying about the damage he may be doing to our cause since his other major accomplishment is ensuring that the next President will very likely be a Democrat! Meanwhile, Mr. Trump and his crew will be laughing all the way to a Russian Bank!
And when you can produce a word of evidence that Trump’s beholden to the Russians, come back. Until then, spend your time on those who’ve been well-known to take money from the Russians – William Jefferson Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton. If we’d voted for HER, we’d definitely have had a President in Putin’s pocket.
Few things are important to keep in mind..
Most wealthy people do not trust we the Deplorable s.. (they don’t even know us) not always because they are bad people.. in truth they are capable of being just as ignorant, bigoted and biased as the next person at the same time not always evil. Look at America’s wealthy overall.. they are no Second Amendment Supporters or even lovers of Liberty in the main. They are the one’s we defeated this election… They been getting their doses of “really fake news” for a long time just like the rest of the public and bought it Hook Line and Sinker. Think how lucky we have been to have been lied about, mischaracterized, slandered and demeaned because of our Support for the Bill of Rights to include the Second Amendment.. We were Red Pilled in the 50s, 60s… most folks are really new to this whole “Liberty thing” lol So be patient with them.
Scaramouchi is the Executive’s friend by all accounts.. He is not there for the money or his ego but to help the Executive get some control over an out of control White House communications Department. The best of luck to him on that.
He is not there to set Policy with respect to the Second Amendment.. So we should be watchful but not overly concerned.
He can be educated on the issue with a little patience and effort. If the above report is correct it is time for those in a position to do so (ILA,GOA etc).. to bring him up to speed on the real issues related to the Second Amendment.. .if he is objective it should not be difficult which will be a benefit to liberty.
I suggest the Second Amendment community supports the guy.. as he supports the Executive and the Executive’s overwhelmingly positive agenda.
When your Sailing the USS of State.. it is the general direction that counts not the tacking.
Again … look at the overall direction and seriously.. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Vic, Most Democrats openly support increased gun control, but if it becomes politically expedient to do so, Trump will turn against us without hesitation, followed by the rest of the Republicans. They all live in a different universe where their security is provided at the expense of us taxpayers. Don’t think your rights are any safer just because they elected an even bigger moron this time.
Those of us who are Christ followers & are for the right to keep & bear arms need to stop fooling ourselves. Trump is not interested in the things of God to where he would actually stand for them, necessarily, &, like many other things, he has no allegiance to any worldview or paradigm but the one that exists in his own head & heart. He hired this guy because he’s one of his friends, etc.; i.e. some personal reason, not because the guy represents the paradigm of the people who elected him President. Truly, the 2-party system doesn’t work for our land & we have to look no further than the “healthcare” failure from the Republicans. How the people of Kentucky can keep electing 2 such different men…Rand Paul vs. Mitch McConnell…truly fascinating. People who have been voting Republican & expecting someone to align themselves w/ common God-fearing people & their plight need to wake the heck up…culminating in the last great hope of Trump. Trump is only giving people false hope, not actually standing consistently on the biblical “high ground”. Hopefully, by God’s grace, as several posters have noted, the new Comm Director will have no say in legislation or the rights of good guys to have weapons.
I agree! The only thing Trump is insuring is that another Republican President will not be elected next time!
““Scaramucci’s comments underscore recent national polling data: Gun violence prevention is not a partisan issue. A vast majority of Americans – including gun owners, NRA members and Republicans – overwhelmingly support common-sense gun laws,” said Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action.”
Only if you cherry-pick your polls. Nationwide, support for additional gun controls is tepid at best and encompasses measures already a fact in local laws – gun show backrgound checks (I haven’t NOT had to pay for and undergo an NCIC background check on buying a handgun at a gun show in the past ten years), things like that. What Shannon Watts leaves out is a strong support for the Second Amerndment on polls taken nationwide. Watts is entitled to her opinions, but not a private reality. And when she lies with selectively collated figures and facts, only those who believe in the Gospel for itching ears will believe her.
As far as Scaramucci’s concerned, we’ve survived eight years of someone with his views in the Oval Office. Trump, I hope, realizes that if this is the way he thinks, too and he acts on it, he’ll go (as Tom Lehrer once said of Lyndon Johnson) “from being all things to all people, to being called all things by all people” and losing the present plurality who put him in office. It’s his call.
Shall not be infinged. Plain and simple.
He was hired as the communications director. His job has nothing to do with his views on guns. If he was a supreme court justice that would be a different story. The guy is good at communications and President Trump believes he picked the right man for the job. If I was hiring a chef and had to choose between Staunch Trump supporter that is a really good cook and an anti gun democrat with 5 James Beard awards I’m going to hire the Democrat. It’s a matter of the right man for the job. You can bet he’s not going to go spouting off anti gun nonsense while speaking for the Trump Administration. Move on people.
Get rid of Scaramucci NOW!!!!!!!!!
I agree. The Mooch’s job is to make sure there’s one message coming out of the Oval Office. He’ll have to coordinate with the President and the new Chief of Staff to find the leaks from the Oval Office (and if he needs to bring in his own security guy to do it, so be it – it’s almost a dead certainty that Obama appointees control the parts of the government which OUGHT to be enforcing laws on divulging confidential information, or even identifying who’s doing it. There’s an even chance the leaks are coming from hardware left in the Oval Office by Obama’s sympathizers in the intelligence community or outside contractors brought in by Obama.
So I’m withholding judgment on Scaramucci. If he can plug the White House leaks, I don’t care what his views on gun control are. The President enforces the laws we have, and the Congress passes gun control laws. The White House communications director has nothing to do with that.
The simple fact that the New York City 1889 Sullivan act made possession of handguns under very strict control and buying a illegal firearm in NYC is easier then finding a four leaf clover in Times Square is well known. The NYC court system plea bargains criminal possession of illegal firearms sentences down and often the criminal is on the street in hours to commit more crimes is also well known. Imposing stricter gun control in other states will not solve NY Cities illegal firearms available on the street no more then all of the lip service these politicians who claim that new gun control laws will work.have lowered the crime rate in Podunk Iowa.
40 plus years as a law enforcement officer both state then Federal (DEA); raised 3 kids, 5 grandkids, all hunters, all gun enthusiast, not one every been arrested, they were taught to use a gun and gun safety, they were taught to mind and be respectful of their elders, most are married now and have children, they don’t smoke dope, they have good jobs and have a future..Take that to the bank, Being politically correct is the ruination of our youth..I don’t feel a thing for the liberal parents, I do for those kids…A house without a gun is a house without safety, a child taught to shoot and safe handling of a gun will never shoot his friend or his brother, as a hunter he knows what the word death means, he is not some snowflake sleeping with his Teddy Bear at 17 years old…
Excellent post!
Maybe somebody can finally sit down and straighten out the whole pro-gun / anti-gun mess. Until the country wakes up and realizes that it is how our society has changed and the whole liberal hands of approach to raising our children it is never going to stop. If kids never have any real consequences for their actions to truly learn right from wrong what do you expect? We have to be so politically correct and sensitive to everything that they think they can get away with anything and because if they “feel” that way then it is ok to do. It goes far beyond gun control but guns are an easy tangible thing to blame. Maybe they should make drugs and driving while intoxicated illegal too because those 2 things lead to thousands of deaths as well. Oh ya, tried that…..didn’t work. The ONLY thing that will ever work is teaching our children right from wrong and having real consequences for their actions. The sad part out there is their are just far too many idiots that want to blame inanimate objects for their failure to do what we should for our children and society in the name of sensitivity and political correctness. Nothing will ever be perfect but we are sure heading in the wrong direction now and have been since they took spanking out of schools and started stupid stuff like not telling children no.
By the way, you are eight (8) times MORE LIKELY to die from alcoholism in this country than you are being shot to death by another person.
Then the PRESIDENT has hired a DIRTBAG, if he is anti-gun, as we the people who voted TRUMP in are for gun rights, and the 2nd Amendment, HE has no place on the PRESIDENTS Staff, besides he is a BLOWHARD BIGMOUTH.
This is a big mistake hiring this
“Anti gun” mouthpiece Mr. President. I’ll be watching him like a hawk. This is the first thing you’ve done to make me suspect of you, take note !
I’m sure that the President is very concerned about your suspicions.
Gun sales are way down, along with prices, so it must be time to get everyone worried and buying again?-:) hahaha. Maybe not, but I was wondering how long it would take? I’m thinking this guy will have little effect on gun control but with the media controlled by Globalists who must disarm populations to implement global governance, they are going to do it. Trump was just a temporary set back. When you have 50% of the population who voted for someone like Hillary, you don’t have to be a genius to see where we are headed. But for now, we’ll enjoy our little freedom we still have.
I just read a report that GUNAMERICA NEWS&REVIEWS is reporting that Anthony Scarmucci “tweeted” on July 22, 2017 this:
“Full transparency: I’m deleting old tweets. Past views evolved & shouldn’t be a distraction. I serve @POTUS agenda & that’s all that matters”
Considering also that I heard the new Communications Director say in a recent video that he relies very heavily the advice of President Trump’s personal legal team attorney Jay Sekulow, I am not too concerned about Scarmucci’s earlier tweets which seemed to indicate an anti-2nd Amendment bias.
Jay Sekulow is Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ). The American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) is a politically conservative, Christian-based social activism organization in the United States. The ACLJ was founded in 1990 by law school graduate and evangelical minister Pat Robertson to protect constitutional and human rights worldwide. Although ACLJ, (I am a contributing member), has mainly concerned itself with religious freedom legal issues, neither Sekulow, nor the ACLJ is opposed to the civil rights of self defense with a firearm as protected by the 2ns Amendment.
Where guns are concerned, all politicians are anti. It matters not one bit whether R or D. You’d think that the people would have seen enough evidence of this by now, yet the belief persists that R = pro gun and D = anti gun. They ALL think that they are better than you, you are the “little people”, the laws are for you, not them. This is not an NFL game, where one side wins. R and D are the same team, the game is to hold on to power and you are the loser. WAKE UP.
Or don’t.
You’re right, unfortunately. The traitors have abandoned the Constitution. I still hope Trump drags them back, kicking and screaming.
Trump is a politician, one of them. He will do whatever his corporate master wish. How do you think he got elected? Or, do you think that the people actually elect the president? Stop fooling yourself.
So glad we have a class clown as President and his court jester as Comm. Director. Trump is a sorry excuse for a human being and even sorrier as our Commander in Chief. He makes me ashamed to call myself a Republican. I hope the NRA sticks this in his azz and breaks it off.
hey Bob,you you should join the cry babies Democrats,,since you obviously are saddened that Trump handed you your ass and destroyed Hillary.LOL.Trump is the man now,are you are still NOTHING,,so go and cray about trump in your safe corner with the other Liberal cry babies,
Libtard troll.
Yeah……..right……you’re a Republican…..LOL!!!! Troll time……..
Republican? Perhaps, but certainly one of those RINO’s who are to the left of any right leaning Democrat. Be honest with yourself then and register Socialist….errr. I mean Dumbocrat.
Finally a Republican that will tell the Truth, is seems no matter how bad Trump gets, the good right people still stand behind him and still applaud his foolishness. Now he just hired another fool and you applaud that. I\’ve never seen such good people love a devil like Trump. I am a military Retired Airman, I served 23 yrs active and 3 yrs civil Service, fighting communism, all my life i gave to this Country against Russia, Putin and his way of life and Trump brought them to my home, Trump brags how he loves Putin, He has made all my yrs of Service in vain. Keep applauding his foolishness and lose out Country. I don\’t care if you don\’t like what i said and I\’m still going to keep my guns and i will probably buy more
You’re correct, all your years of service have been in vain. We are friends with every country we ever went to war with, and the only ones who profit from those friendships are corporations because of cheap labor and resources. I wonder how all of those Viet Nam vets feel, wearing clothing that says made in Viet Nam. The “good” people to which you refer are either willfully ignorant or in fact, stupid. The R/D, left/right paradigm is meant to keep the “little people” distracted while the single-party system has its way with you all.
Fun Fact: The United States is the dumbest of all first-world nations.
Scarumucci need to never worry since he is continually surrounded by Guns to protect him. The Political Class have there own
Armed guards to protect them. The rest of us depend on the Sec Amendment for our protection where many in the Political want to eliminate it. Scary!
Shannon Watts probably isn’t so bad…she needs somebody to get up in that right. Probably straighten her right out.
I’m gonna kick the hornet’s nest a little – I’ve spent my entire adult life (20yrs now) between NYC & Los Angeles. I’m a gun owner who’s had to navigate those cities’ very restrictive gun laws, BUT – 2 of the safest large cities in the U.S.
Chicago, Baltimore, and St. Louis are way more dangerous.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m glad I have my guns, but I’m also happy to live in a safe city.
Dat be some po- tin bug juice yo be on?
I’ll bet you voted for Obama twice and the Hillary.
Doesn’t matter who you voted for, you DO NOT elect the president. Presidential ELECTORS elect the president. Look up how electors are chosen and learn some damned civics.
People who are anti-gun have never lived or grew up in Detroit and had to wait 30 minutes on police to respond to an armed robbery with shots being fired, 8 blocks away from the precinct house. Only thugs and idiots are in favor of gun control. The thugs, because they’ll have weapons anyway, and an unarmed public makes a nice target. Idiots…. well, because they are IDIOTS!
What are these people going to do when the anarchists show up at their door or when terrorists come to their neighborhood ?? No matter how many laws you pass the bad guys will always get guns. Remember people kill people, not guns.
Uh oh.. “thug” expert.
We have banned drugs since Nixon…how has THAT been going over?
More drugs…more powerful…cheaper than ever. Hmmmm. Is that a success?
How did a ban work with alcohol? Hmmmmmmmm.
Let people buy what they want…with current checks…but if/when a crime is committed with it then 20 years for 1st offense. Life if a death occurs. No early outs…no paroles…full sentence. Including no presidential pardon.
Anthony has already “soiled” himself. I don’t see him as any threat to our rights. If he gets out of line Sara Huckabee Sanders will take him out back and kick his butt. LOL!
Sara is lower ranking than him, isn’t she?
And yet, still has a job in the White House. Anthony Scaramucci does not, any more.
“Killings went down…when guns were taken from people who put their fellow citizens at risk.”
Yeah, that happens when criminals get arrested.
Another Obama plant to disrupt this administration. Why on Earth would you hire an anti-gun into a pro 2A conservative White House. Liberals think an inanimate objects do things by themselves with no consideration for the human element directing the action. Mentally challenged!!
Michael… because Trump never was pro 2nd amendment and yes I voted for the skunk. He’s done virtually NOTHING to restore the 2nd Amendment. We’ve been hoodwinked again. I hope this FINALLY puts the nail in the “we can be saved via politics” coffin
exactly. trump doesn’t give a rat’s testes about gun rights. he just saw a population he could con for votes. republicans in congress are no better; they’re ignoring both reciprocity bills, yet they found time to reduce internet privacy by letting big ISPs sell your search history.
Thank you. I am glad I did not vote for the buffoon.
Trump doesn’t create laws, Congress does. There’s only a few executive actions that he can take, like nominating a pro-gun judge or giving the military the right to carry on base or in recruiting offices. The rest is up to our idiot congressmen…
trump can’t write bills but he has substantial influence over congress – he’s the great negotiator, the great salesman, isn’t that what he keeps telling us? if he made a few phone calls on behalf of the reciprocity bills, offered to work a deal by throwing his weight behind some other legislation those committee chiefs like, those bills wouldn’t be rotting at the bottom of a stack of subcommittee documents.
Net neutrality is about google, apple, and amazon making profits on the back of ISPs. The privacy thing is a lark.
Not done anything for the Second? Really?
He literally saved it from extinction.
No one else could have beaten Hillary. Period.
Hillary’s SCOTUS picks would have declared the second amendment null and void for individuals.
That one thing makes Trump the best thing to happen to freedom since the BoR.
So now a wave of articles about Trump coming to take our guns? People really don’t understand our government process and how laws are made or changed, and the role the Executive branch plays in that process. Remind me again, when was Obama supposed to come take my guns? Was I not home that day?
SCP, Obama campaigned on the promise he wouldn’t infringe on gun owners and their rights but the moment he took office he worked feverishly to strip guns from citizens. How? How about the 7N6 ammo ban? Then the failed fast and furious all designed to make it appear the govt needs to save us from guns when it was the govt pulling the strings behind the curtain all along. Next, every single gun related incident Obama never let go to waste, he’d use this to grand stand against guns. The list goes on and on. So where you home when any of this happened?
Did you paint your house black? ‘Cuz the black helicopters can’t see black houses. That’s how my gun collection was saved from the “gun grabbing traitorous Muslim imposter president”.
I wasn’t a huge Obama fan, but his administration looks like the Yankees compres to the Bad News Bears that are running amok in the White House now.
You don’t have a gun collection….Please tell us all how great Obama was. Voting for any president in itself is a Fruad. Always has been, always will be. They are bottom feeders who bow to their masters and put a face to the screwing over of the country so the real perps don’t get the blame. Get it?
Ill Will,
No, they don’t get it, that’s why they still think that they elected Trump. They also refuse to believe that the majority of anti-gun laws passed in the last 40 years came at the stroke of a republican president’s pen. The sum total of Obama’s gun legislation was to repeal the local CLEO veto power on NFA applications, thus making it EASIER to acquire NFA items.
I am an NRA member, and consider myself to be a strong believer in gun control. I strongly believe good guys should be able to have guns, and bad guys should not. Our system of gun control is more than adequate. This country is made stronger by citizens who are willing and prepared to defend against criminal, evil, and subversives. We need to recognize state CCW permits universally among ALL states. We need to unify our patriotic citizenry to all act as one body to defend the Constitution, and Federal Laws.
Agree with everything here. But we have to start refining our definition of “bad guys”. Terrorists and criminals, OK, that’s obvious. What about the mentally ill? Many of the mass shootings were conducted not by terrorists or criminals, but by people with severe mental problems. What about domestic abusers? Data shows overwhelmingly that women who have been abused by husbands and boyfriends are at an astronomical risk of being murdered by their abusers with firearm. And if you agree that people in those two examples shouldn’t have guns, then you are going to have to agree to more invasive background checks to be able to identify them. But then everyone freaks out and says you’re trying to take my guns away. Its not the same thing.
” an astronomical risk of being murdered by their abusers with firearm” – nope…most times a firearm is NEVER used in a DV situation.
Add to that…the ONLY weapons they take in DV situations are guns. They leave the knives and bats and swords and chainsaws and rope and glass items …etc etc etc …even when a gun was NOT used in the original DV encounter. Hmmm.
“According to federal data collected from police departments, in 2005 approximately 40% of
female homicide victims ages 15–50 were killed by either a current or former intimate partner.
In over half (55%) of these cases, the perpetrator used a gun. Among male victims 15–50 years
of age, 2% were killed by either a current or former intimate partner. About 37% of the male
intimate partner homicides involved a gun.”
http://www.jhsph.edu/research/centers-and-institutes/johns-hopkins-center-for-gun-policy-and-research/publications/IPV_Guns.pdf
If you’re convicted of domestic abuse, you can’t own a gun in MI and, I would guess, most other states. The problem is that most of these perps never get reported for domestic abuse until it’s too late, or they get their gun illegally anyways
People with a record of domestic abuse are already, by law, forbidden to possess firearms.
Did not Trump say he was “draining the swamp”? It is looking more and more like he is filling it. Here is another brainless lemming trying to influence public policy through his mentally challenged outlook on reality.
Never trust anyone who prefers retention of power to maintaining their principals.
The “MOOCH” has “evolved” since 2015, which means he stuck his wet finger in the wind to see which direction it was blowing. Just another swamprat who will do anything to attain some power and influence in DC
He will not influence any laws. Just a mouth piece who will be replaced as they always are. Fear mongering news.
He will stick it to us if he can, skunks don’t change their stripes.
While Trump is a definite improvement over 0bama and far preferable to Hilary, he still cannot be fully trusted. He could do a u-turn on a dime IHMO.
The danger I see here is that many of us in the pro-gun community breathed a big sigh of relief when Trump won and now believe that it’s time to rest on our laurels. I know several people at work with this attitude. I keep telling them they’d better get their ARs now. They wave it off, saying they have 4 years before they need to worry about it again.
Dangerous attitude.
I didn’t vote for Hillary or Donald. Didn’t see either as the lessor of two evils. Rather viewed/view both equally objectionable and inept in their own unique ways. Went third party and urinated away my vote but not my conscience. Totally agree with you, though, that Trump “could do a u-turn on a dime” based on his mercurial and impulsive personality. His major, undying loyalty seems to be primarily to himself and to members of his immediate family. As a non-member of that inner circle, I don’t trust him any further than I could pick him up and throw him, which wouldn’t be far. In the 12 U.S. presidents I’ve lived under as a U.S. citizen since my birth, including Trump, Trump is by far, to date, the least admirable, even when compared to Nixon…and I didn’t care much for him either. My opinion of Trump could improve over the remaining 3+ years left in his (first) term. But it’s becoming harder and harder for me to give him the benefit of the doubt based on some of his behavior since 20 January 2017.
Mom’s demand action are a bunch of stupid women being used by the Left.
Otherwise, they would know that much of what they demand has been Law for almost half a century, the illiterate twits.
Try reading the Laws, silly girls.
Shannon needs to understand that the 2nd Amendment is there to protect the 1st Amendment. “Unalienable Rights” are Universal. Appointing a “communications director” that openly supported Andrew Cuomo’s incredibly repressive “New York State SAFE Act” should raise a Gigantic Red Flag among anyone supporting the current White House Regime. The POTUS has repeatedly attempted to stifle Free Speech. Prosecuting journalists for accurately reporting on Trump’s innaguration celebration Failures. The attendance was clearly the worst in my lifetime. 12 innaguration celebrations and hardly anyone showed up for Trump so he has Jeff Sessions prosecuting the journalists that reported the truth? Now he appoints a clearly anti-gun communications director. This is clearly caise for concern.
Shannon does understand that. Thing is this is a paying and publicity gig for her. Guarantee you she will run for office in CO.
I’m not worried about this one little bit. The conservative gun-loving base base is all our president really has. If he tried to do any thing like what you guys are implying he’d have 100 million more people very upset in addition to the 100 million never trumpers. Oh yes there is a little known fact that one of his boys are in a gun club just down the street from me.
People change their views on issues. I believe Scarmooch likes the power enough to fit the mold for now.
Shall not be infringed, Shannon. Do you want your freedom of speech infringed? That way you wouldn’t appear so ignorant of the truth regarding guns. So, it would be a favor to you.
Scarumucci , he has shown already he is a hot head. His days in the position of communications director will last about 6 months. The power will go to his head and he will over step his bounds.
I just don’t like him , the title “Slick Willy” fits him to a T. He knows nothing about guns and any of the facts related to there usage. Another expert who knows nothing and refuses to educate himself with the facts. At present we can only hope he goes down in flames which he seems to be doing without our help.
‘Gun violence issues’? The issue is Shannon Watts’ lack of understanding of the US Constitution OR the reasons behind ‘gun violence’. There are an awful lot of mothers who take exception to this woman’s position. As far as Scaramucci is concerned he can go just as fast as he came, and probably will.
Sad that Sandy Hook keeps coming up. Everybody keeps blaming the gun and not the psycho kid, his mother, and the social services person that knew he should be in an institution. Maybe one day reality will creep in and we’ll see that problem for what it is, and that closing the institutions to save money actually is costing us more.
The institutions were closed due to ACLU pressure…
We should keep in mind the Communications Director is not a policy making position. The danger is he will have Trump’s ear, and might be able to sway him into an anti-gun position on some issue. Fortunately, Steve Bannon is very pro-gun, as are Don Jr. and Eric. Kushner and Ivanka – we really don’t know. Also, Scaramucci was fired by Trump once before, during the campaign, so who knows how long he will be around this time. The Trump Administration seems to be pro-gun so far but will need to be continually scrutinized by the NRA and other gun-rights organizations.
