SAR Arms had a new pistol, but more importantly a new company. The days of multiple importers are over, SAR is now SAR USA. This is a subsidiary of the Turkish firearms maker, and will be handling all warranty issues for SAR pistols, regardless of who brought it into the country. This should smooth over any and all issues regarding parts availability, new models, and magazines.

The SAR 9 is the new pistol model for this year, which garnered much attention on Guns America when Patrick Kelley did a review back in October. I can’t say it any better than he did, so this product description will be brief. The SAR 9 looks like an HK VP9 and a Glock had a love child, with a thumb safety tossed in for good measure. And that is a good thing. The SAR 9 feels good in the hand, the ergonomics are a winner. Low bore axis, nice out of the box texture to the frame, and interchangeable back straps. The mag release is reversible, a bonus for lefties. The trigger out of the box is great, considering the price is MSRP $449.
This is an off the beaten path gun, that is worth a look. Plenty of stock is on hand, and shipping now. Look for the new SAR 9 at a dealer near you.

Why have my st0, and yet can’t get two extras magazines!
I picked up a SAR9 last week from a dealer that had acquired one just to see how it worked; it works fine. I got a bargain price, since it was technically “used”, but I couldn’t tell. The trigger is smooth, I’m told some are not. After putting a few drops of oil on the rails and running a patch thru it, we ATVed up to the range. This wasn’t going to be an accuracy test, and I ran six magazines thru the gun (it came with 2-15 round mags) as quickly as I could shoot and reload magazines. The gun functioned flawlessly and the shots were only slightly left, with the rapid fire groups (at about 8 inches) neatly thru the middle of the reduced silhouette target. The grip feels every bit as good as my P226, and,it will fit in the Sig/s leather holster quite nicely. I’m totally satisfied at this point. Back at the Man Cave once it had cooled down, I pushed down on the two slide release panels and slid the slide off. The release was a bit stiff, bit it IS a new gun. Disassembly, then reassembly once cleaned were easily accomplished. I’m still waiting for something to complain about. Bottom line is that I just totally love the gun and can’t wait to stock up with a few different kinds of ammo and get it dirty again.
As Clay mentioned, Looks like they are going to “turn the hose on for the customer”……how true, now SAR-USA and they have already started hosing the public right off the bat……200.00 increase, assholes!
Let the inportors bring them in do all the work you could by them for 239.00-279.00 now they take over and raise the price to 449.00
No thanks!!!!!
