After being nominated by a number of folks, including astronaut Mark Kelly of the pro-gun control organization Americans for Responsible solutions, National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre accepted the ice bucket challenge to fight ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
After dumping the ice water on his head and getting his closely cropped, always combed, hair wet, LaPierre nominated Karl Malone, Nascar driver Austin Dillion and Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North to follow suit and complete the ice bucket challenge.
