Russian ammunition manufacturer Techkrim has created the .366 TKM shotgun round for the SKS, AK-47 and any other rifle chambered in 7.62×39.

“Why create a 7.62 shotgun round for a rifled barrel?” you may ask.

Because it’s awesome. That’s why.

But aside from its awesomeness, the shotgun round will actually serve as a means for Russians to circumvent their country’s laws, specifically the one that mandates residents own an shotgun for five years before they are allowed to own a rifle.

With this new round, Russians will be able to legally own their 7.62×39 rifles, and the rest of the world can enjoy shooting shotgun rounds from their smoothbore-converted AK’s.

Well played, Russia. Well played.
