We had the opportunity to speak with Harry from Vudoo Gun Works about their newest double-stack firearm, the Commander Priest, featuring a 4.25-inch barrel.

The Commander Priest stands out with its full-size grip paired with a shorter barrel. A key feature of this handgun is its porting on both the barrel and slide, designed for a stable and flat shooting experience. From the few rounds I was able to put through it, I was very impressed.

VuDoo Gun Works has incorporated milled flats on the top of the slide that lead into the port, and a flat black serrated front sight. It also includes a unique steel backup sight situated in front of the optic, small yet practical.

The optic cut on the Commander Priest is notably low, improving the sightline for shooters. This allows for co-witnessing of the included iron sights in the bottom of the window for most common red dots.

It also features an aluminum grip with a textured surface, ensuring a secure grip under any conditions. Ambidextrous thumb safeties are included, with the right side slimmed down for ergonomic ease.

It omits a grip safety, instead utilizing Cheely E2 grips for a comfortable and familiar feel.

Additional attributes of the Commander Priest include an extended magazine release, a double undercut trigger, and a flared magwell for quick reloading.

It also has a Picatinny rail for mounting accessories. A distinctive aspect of this model is its reverse crown muzzle, typically a feature only found from aftermarket custom gunsmithing.

The handgun is equipped with a heavy bull barrel, contributing to its stability during firing, and is finished with a matching custom Cerakote on both the slide and frame.

VuDoo Gun Works is currently accepting orders for the Commander Priest, with an expected 12-week lead time due to demand.
