There are a lot of great shooters in the world, and there are many great teachers as well.  Very few however are great at both teaching and shooting. 

The DryFireMag is a dry fire magazine that uses your own gun to provide audible and tactile trigger simulation, making your dry fire practice feel very similar to your real trigger.

I found tons of apps, gadgets, and gizmos that I’ve loved in my dry fire journey, and I want to share those with you.

In my opinion, perhaps the hottest new gun of 2021 is a rimfire. Introduced last month, the new FNH 502 has proven to be everything we needed for this day and age. Why am I, usually the tactical nerd for GunsAmerica Digest, so hot and bothered for a pistol that shoots 22 LR? Well mostly because I have purchased ammunition in the last two years. And even before that, I was very intrigued by the idea of a training pistol in a cheaper caliber. The FNH delivers in a way no one else has to date.

When I heard that Crimson Trace had come out with a new line of red dot sights, their Rapid Aiming Dots (RAD), it made complete sense to me. After all, Crimson Trace has been in the firearm laser and light business for decades, and in more recent years has introduced their scope lines, so adding electronics into optics to get new electronic sights seems to be the natural progression.

This year at SHOT Show 2022, while there was plenty going on in the booths and on the Las Vegas strip, some of the cooler things happened outside of town, in the desert.

Mantis expands on their dry fire training systems with the Mantis Laser Academy. The system gives instant feedback on accuracy during dry fire drills.

There are a whole lot of break-action shotguns out there. If you don’t have one, you probably know someone who does. A lot of these shotguns are old and in need of some kind of repair. And given the state of things at present, you may even be looking at using one as a home defense weapon. But with some work, you can put these shotguns into condition to fill even that critical role.
