Manufacturing firearms at home for personal use is perfectly legal, according to the federal government. But not according to Bridgeport, Connecticut, whose mayor recently signed a measure that would levy a $250/day fine to anyone caught in the possession of a “ghost gun.”

Democrat Phil Bredesen is running for Tennessee’s U.S. Senate seat as a pro-gun moderate who can work with folks from across the aisle. If that’s the case (which is probably isn’t), his own party’s apparatus is doing a great job undermining those efforts.

“I am vocal about common-sense gun safety and gun laws. For instance, I fully support an assault weapon ban, I fully support a bump stock ban.”

Confiscation squads performing under the auspices of Operation Dual Force have been a success, say California authorities. “This operation is a prime example of how law enforcement comes together to fight crime and keep our neighborhoods safe by removing illegally-possessed guns from our communities,” said Attorney General Xavier Becerra said in a Tuesday press release. Just weeks after a group of nuns and big-money investors forced Smith & Wesson and Ruger to account for their role in promoting “gun violence,” Wells Fargo took its considerable financial resources and threw them behind one of the world’s largest gunmakers, Sturm, Ruger & Co. The bank issued the company a $40 million line of credit last week, stunning members of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, who had been working with investors to force gunmakers to address the “risks” inherent in its products’ association with gun-related violence.
