It seems the armed community is rediscovering the advantages of the small revolver over the pocket auto!

American Gun Craft’s Desperado hand cannon looks like a double barrel 12 gauge shotgun but it is not a firearm under federal law. There is no gimmick here, Desperado is a hybrid black powder and percussion device you load from the front with black powder and shot then shoot it with a 209 shotgun primer.

I had a great time with this rifle, and I have no problem recommending it if you are in the market for a PCC.

Many years ago, I purchased my first Glock pistol, in 9mm. Almost immediately, I went to the Lone Wolf website and ordered a replacement barrel for it. Why? Because the advice of all the serious Glock guys was to do exactly that.

The world of hunting rifles tends to be relatively stable. We have single shots, bolt actions, lever guns, and a few semi-autos. The Savage Impulse is a bolt action rifle but isn’t your traditional rotary bolt. Instead, Savage went with a straight-pull bolt.

Have you ever made an impulse purchase that was way out of your wheelhouse, but it looked like such a good deal you had to go for it? Me neither. Okay, that isn’t actually true. But just because I make a serious, serious mistake doesn’t mean I don’t write about it on the internet. So that others may learn. Or have a good laugh. Or maybe both this time.

A nightstand gun is premised on the idea you don’t have children. I do now, so I have to err a bit more on the side of caution. But as a single dude living in some perhaps sketchy areas, I was a huge advocate of the nightstand blaster. And for that particular role, the 1911 packs some clear advantages.
