New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy wants to make it dramatically more expensive for residents to exercise their right to keep and bear arms.

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott betrayed gun owners in the Green Mountain State, then, according to the ACLU’s allegations, deleted critical Facebook comments.

A new study has revealed that of the estimated 1.013 billion smalls arms worldwide, civilians hold 857 million of them, a 32 percent increase since 2006. The study’s authors attribute the rise both to better reporting data and to rising gun ownership in the United States, whose citizens hold 40 percent of the world’s civilian firearms.

Colorado Congressional candidate Levi Tilleman proposes that instead of allowing teachers to arm themselves, schools (funded by American taxpayers) should arm every teacher with a can of pepper spray. To demonstrate the effectiveness of his solution, Tilleman allowed himself to be sprayed in the face.

A Florida judge signed a “risk protection order” last week that allowed the Broward County Sheriff’s Office to seize 67 guns from a bailiff deemed to be a risk to himself or others. The order was signed after the bailiff, Franklin Joseph Pinter, allegedly exhibited troubling behavior in the courthouse.

“We are trying to get the same question answered,” said King in an email to GunsAmerica. “Unlike other states there are no public hearings on these bills and we have to rely on them answering questions. Since this is a Cuomo bill I expect the worst.”

In the wake of the 2015 mass murder at a church in Charleston, S.C., lawmakers have called for an end to the 72-hour background check rule. Opponents argue that giving the FBI unlimited time to complete a NICS check could indefinitely suspend a citizen’s Second Amendment rights, and now a new lawsuit is shedding light on just how incompetent the feds can be.
