Virginia Governor Ralph Northam fired back at President Trump over the weekend following a series of criticisms from the President about the recent gun control bills passed in Virginia.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam signed a slate of anti-gun bills last week, finalizing an array of measures pushed by gun control lobbyists and Democratic legislators.

Democrats in Congress are quietly pushing a mammoth gun control bill that would, among other things, ban “assault weapons” and mandate a license to purchase a firearm.

“The Second Amendment does not require that gun stores be singled out for special treatment and allowed to remain open during the most significant public health crisis of the last 100 years,” said Eric Tirschwell, managing director of Everytown Law.

Virginia’s legislative session came to a close on Saturday, but not before gun-control advocates approved at least three anti-gun bills just hours before the deadline.

“Before deciding whether to weigh in, we would benefit from hearing their considered judgments — provided, of course, that they are not afflicted with the same problems. But waiting should not be mistaken for lack of concern,” Gorsuch concluded.

“They cannot not enforce,” she said. “And if they really intend to do that, they should resign as a law enforcement officer and leader in that community.”
