City leaders in San Jose this week approved an 11-point gun-control plan that infringes on the 2A rights of law-abiding citizens.

ATF has cooked up a scheme to directly change federal gun laws in order to foist gun control on the American people.

“California has shown that these laws work,” she continued. “Our commonsense bill would help more states enact similar laws that respect due process rights while giving families and law enforcement a way to remove guns from dangerous individuals.”

Eight Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives have filed a bill that would require handgun owners to obtain a license and register their firearms with the federal government.

Known as “extreme risk protection orders” (ERPOs) or “red flag” laws, these controversial measures already exist in some 19 states and the District of Columbia.

Liccardo is planning to ask the city council to back a proposal that would require all gun owners to purchase liability insurance and pay an annual fee, and mandate that gun stores video record firearm purchases.

“These ads are a reminder that background checks aren’t a partisan issue, and that the vast majority of Americans support common sense steps to keep guns away from dangerous people,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety.

“It’s just an indication of the problem we have with the scourge of gun violence in this country that we need to do much more at a federal level to stop,” Art Acevedo, chief of the Miami Police Department, told CBS’ Face the Nation.
