HySkore Target Hound Target Stands Hold 1×2 & 2×4 Lumber – SHOT Show 2017

There are two models, the Target Hound and the Target Hound Max. If you only plan to shoot at 100 yards or less, the regular Target Hound fits targets to 18 inches wide. It will hold both 1×2 strapping and 2×4 standard construction lumber. The base is made to stay stable in a light breeze, so if you want more wind resistance, you can attach longer lumber stringers to the extended legs.

Uzkon Bullpup 12 Gauge Gas Shotgun Takes 1919 Mags - SHOT Show 2017

Uzkon Bullpup 12 Gauge Gas Shotgun Takes 1919 Mags – SHOT Show 2017

There have been rumblings about this gun for several months now, so it was nice to run across it at a small booth at SHOT. So far the gun has an importer, EAA, and the initial samples have been sent to ATF. That should be smooth sailing to get a gun in hand by later this year. At a pricepoint under $1,000, the gun should do very well in the US market, and we hope to see one soon.

Boyds Gunstocks AT-1 Adjustable Stock https://www.boydsgunstocks.com/ Boyds Gunstocks is far and away the leader in replacement hardwood laminate and solid wood replacement stocks. Ruger SR556 Takedown - Cool Design - Problematic Performance - Full Review

Ruger SR556 Takedown – Cool Design – Problematic Performance – Full Review

The Ruger SR556 Takedown is a removable barrel system on an already great piston driven AR. It’s a bit pricey, but the novelty alone isn’t the full story. It also swaps out for .300BK with just a barrel and mag change, and Ruger sells the kit. Not the most accurate weapon once it heats up, but worth a look.

New Kahr Arms Pistols from SHOT Show 2017

New Kahr Arms Pistols from SHOT Show 2017

Kahr Arms is best known for concealed carry pistols, and that is exactly what they brought to the party this year. The CM line of pistols has new colors, and some new upgrades. The color is Tungsten Grey, with gray most certainly being the favorite new color of the gun industry. The Kahr Arms Tungsten is a darker gray, with a matte finish. It makes for a beautiful gun, and I am starting to really dig this “guns don’t always have to be black” attitude.

A New Classic: The New Colt Gold Cup Trophy—SHOT Show 2017

In one of the biggest surprises of the SHOT Show, Colt has updated the Gold Cup 1911. Fully updated for 2017, the Gold Cup Tropy is going to make 1911 fans very happy. The gun is beautiful in the stainless steel finish we shot. It looks absolutely gorgeous. The sights are a Bo-Mar rear, with a Novak fiber optic front. Every model comes with a national match barrel, and from the factory is available in 9mm or .45 ACP.

All of these are .308 bullets, but as you can see, materials, shape, and weight vary dramatically.

Reloading: Bullet Materials and Shapes

Bullets are bullets, right? Well, not really. There are a wide array of variables in bullet shape, weight, materials, and construction. Each of these variables can have a dramatic impact on the performance, and safety, of any given load. In other words, loading recipe data for one 147-grain, .308 bullet may be incorrect, and even unsafe, for another projectile of equal caliber and weight. Let’s take a closer look at some of the variables and what you need to know about each.

Italian Roundbody SxS 28ga - $1,450 - FAIR Shotguns SHOT Show 2017

Italian Roundbody SxS 28ga – $1,450 – FAIR Shotguns SHOT Show 2017

This gun is worth checking into if you have always wanted a small gauge field grade dove shotgun, and a traditional side by side fits the bill. The belly is really elegant and tiny, and the stock and wrist seem to be finished as well and as nice a wood grain as you’ll find in any Italian shotgun under $5,000. At $1,400, it’s a steal, and I think it’s because they are trying to get the FAIR name out there.
