I’d seen Medford knives from time to time, and I’d actually priced some on the web, but I always thought the price was a bit steep. I used to make knives, and I know–better than most yokels–what is actually involved in the process. But this year at SHOT Show, I got to see the whole line-up, and I’m here to tell you that these things are impressive. I’ll have one, too, as soon as I can scrape up the cash. Check out their Sniper–a knife that is also a Sniper’s tool.

BY Sam Trisler Published: January 22, 2015 Updated: January 22, 2015I love historic guns and the reproductions of them. One of my favorite of the Italian makers is Davide Pedersoli. I stopped by their booth in the Little Italy section of the SHOT Show floor to check out what was new.
Cheap Guns: The Cobra CA380 Semi-Auto $199?
BY Paul Helinski Published: January 15, 2015 Updated: January 15, 2015This is the start of a new series I have been thinking about called “Cheap Guns.” I don’t know if cheap is the right word, but it’s the word people use when they encounter a $200 firearm of just about any type. “That’s cheap!” But the next words are something like “I wonder if it is any good.” My goal is to go out and buy some of these guns, some of the more common ones, and go shoot them.

BY Justin Opinion Published: November 25, 2014 Updated: November 25, 2014Our esteemed editor recently went on a rant about what he considers to be the Jan Brady of handgun ammunition. I think he’s delusional. There’s a lot to say about the .40 S&W, and very little of it is negative. Someone has to stand up for the .40–and I’m stepping up to the challenge. Here are 5 reasons why you should respect the round.
Guncrafter Industries 9mm CCO–Review
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: November 23, 2014 Updated: November 23, 2014There’s a reason why so many people have gravitated toward polymer pocket pistols for concealed carry. 1911s, though beautiful, tend to be a bit bulky and temperamental. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve seen them fail. But what if you could have a single action custom built for your specific concealed carry wish-list, and one that would never fail? How much would that be worth? Today we’re looking at just such a gun, a 9mm CCO from Guncrafter Industries–and we’ve spent some time in their shop to see how this level of perfection is possible.

The CMMG Mk3–a Hard Hitting Heavy Rifle–Review
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: November 16, 2014 Updated: November 16, 2014Bigger is sometimes better. That’s the philosphy behind the fixation with the AR-10. For a marginal increase in size and weight, you have a lot more punch on the terminal end of ballistic trajectory. CMMG’s Mk 3 .308 is a beast of a gun, and offers AR speed and ergonomics for those who want more than the 5.56 can provide.
