Going the Distance with the New Performance Center T/C LRR (Full Review)
BY Jordan Michaels Published: July 28, 2018 Updated: July 28, 2018I was ready to rock ‘n roll earlier this month when I made my way to central Texas to try my hand at a 1000-yard target with the new Long-Range Rifle (LRR) from Smith & Wesson’s Performance Center and Thompson/Center. Like many gun owners in 2018, my long-range shooting knowledge exceeded my experience. I’ve been geeking out about D.O.P.E. cards, bullet trajectories, and MIL vs. MOA for years, but I hadn’t had many chances to pull the trigger.
Historic Shotgun Maker Franchi Introduces New Bolt-Action (Full Review)
BY Jordan Michaels Published: June 28, 2018 Updated: June 28, 2018The Momentum is a nice rifle, but not for the reasons Franchi thinks it is.
The Italian company has been manufacturing high-quality bird guns for 150 years, and in April of 2018 they announced their first foray into the bolt-action rifle market. Franchi hopes to translate its heritage of craftsmanship and innovation to a new kind of firearm, and for the most part, they succeeded.
An Accurate .308, Forward-Ejecting Bullpup: Kel-Tec RFB — Full Review
BY Clay Martin Published: February 4, 2018 Updated: February 4, 2018I am not generally a fan of bullpup designs, it is just not my flavor. I understand many people are, and for a variety of reasons. Some just like that they are different. Some like the full-length barrel in a compact package, also a valid point. Some like the concept of a rifle that handles like an SBR, without the need for tax stamps. I get that too. The soldier in me just can’t get behind it though. I see bullpups as a novelty, but not a replacement for rifles. I don’t care if the Brits carry them, they also sip tea. I’ll take tactical advice from the Redcoats the day I am wearing a toe tag.
Driving Boars in Poland — Testing Norma’s New Strike Line
BY Phil Massaro Published: January 20, 2018 Updated: January 20, 2018Hunting styles vary greatly across our country, with spot-and-stalk in the west, sitting on stands in the east, corn feeders in the south and even deer run with dogs in certain states. Travel outside of our borders, and you can find an even wider variety of methods, not to mention specific customs, traditions, and expectations. What may seem natural to you or I can seem completely against the grain in a foreign land.

Clay on the Road: Savage, Federal and Bushnell Writer’s Event
BY Clay Martin Published: May 31, 2017 Updated: May 31, 2017Last week we got the opportunity to attend an event hosted by Savage Firearms, Federal Ammunition, and Bushnell Optics. We shot a mountain of ammunition around the T-Diamond Ranch in Texas, engaging targets from 10 yards all the way to 1,620. It was a great opportunity to get hands on with some of the new toys being released this year, and to pick the stuff for review that our readers are going to want to know more about.
Big Boar Buster: Going Hog Wild with the New Savage MSR 10 Long Range .308
BY Administrator Published: May 18, 2017 Updated: May 18, 2017If your goal is to exterminate as many pigs as possible, your best bet is to shoot as many as you can very quickly. That’s a task best suited to an autoloading rifle. I also prefer something more powerful than a .223 Remington, and that’s why I chose Savage’s new MSR 10 Long Range rifle for a recent Texas hog hunt.
