Smith & Wesson has their newest Performance Center revolver at SHOT Show. The 460XVR Bone Collector is a behemoth of a wheel gun. Chambered in 460 S&W Magnum, this 4.8-pound revolver means business.
This 460 was made in collaboration with Michael Waddell and is branded with his Bone Collector logo on the side. If you are not familiar with Waddell, check out his show, “The Bone Collector” on The Outdoor Channel. The 460 Bone Collector has the attitude of the show captured – it is big, loud and ready for some serious business. To help with the recoil of the hard-hitting .460 S&W it comes with a Performance Center muzzle brake. Sorry, Smith does not offer a
This is a Performance Center revolver and the fit and finish show it. So does the trigger, which is long and smooth in double action and short, light and crisp in single. The big .460 S&W is more than capable of taking any North American game.
This 5 shot X-Frame revolver has a 7.5 inch barrel and a fiber optic front sight. It has two-toned stainless frame with an unfluted cylinder. If you want to add an optic to this bad boy have no fear. Smith has made it easy with the addition to a section of railed barrel on top.
Now for the bad news—These are limited to 1,500 revolvers. So if you want one, better call your dealer soon as these are likely to go fast.
The MSRP is $1,680.

Why didn’t they make this is a 3.5 barrel version
Do you want to sell xvr Bone Collector ?
want to by460XVR bone collextor 7.5 in
How much are they going for now? I can’t find any.
I have one! Just got it don’t know why I don’t hunt. Mine has a lock
Why don’t you count the MIM parts in this revolver, in and out, and try to praise how great it is, compared to the pre-lawyer lock revolvers. They do it to save cost, but then charge a fortune for them.
Does anybody know when these are going to be released for sale? I have been checking everywhere and they are nowhere to be found.
I understand the price issue but I carry a ruger with a lock on it and I just never use it gun works flawlessly with no issues
Sad. These days you can’t even get revolver from S&W’s custom shop without the Nanny lock…PATHETIC!
Pretty bold calling anything that gun pathetic that’s a work of art
JSmith, I couldn’t possibly agree more…These new Saf-T-Lok produced guns are the number one reason that pre-lock S&W revolvers that could be had for $3-400 15 years ago now sell for $1000+ today!
Don’t rush to blame S&W, it is the liberal legal system that has made this type of trigger lock systems prevalent. Because of the numerous lawsuits flying around gun manufacturers have to cover their asses. It is why their are gun locks sold with every gun these days. Those pad locks are complete junk and S&W is just trying to make it easier for owners without a big safe to keep the gun from being mis-used. Just because its there doesn’t mean you have to use it. Be happy you can still even buy a gun. If it wasn’t for S&W, Ruger, and more recently Freedom Group fighting the good fight with the NRA we might have lost our 2nd Amendment rights during the Clinton administration.
I have one. There is no lock.
Mine has a lock
I have been hunting with a 460 XVR for 5 years now with a Aimpoint 9000SC mounted. Perfect combination for any large game anywhere! Just may add one of these and retire the XVR. WOW!!!
