SIG Sauer just announced a new member of the P365 family, the P365X ROMEOZero. Like the P365XL, the P365X comes with a ROMEOZero mini red dot sight installed from the factory, just with a shorter barrel and slide assembly.

“The SIG Sauer P365 series of pistols is the leader in the industry for everyday carry and continues to set the standard for delivering unprecedented capacity in a micro-compact size,” said SIG Executive Vice President Tom Taylor. “The introduction of the P365X ROMEOZero further redefines everyday carry by combining the XSERIES features first introduced with the popular P365XL – including the larger grip module and XSERIES trigger – with the shorter 3.1 inch barrel of the original P365, making it an all-around more comfortable concealed carry pistol.”

The P365X is a medium-sized version of the P365, combining features of both the original P365 and larger, optics-ready P365 XL, bundled with the 3-MOA red dot sight included with the XL ROMEOZero.

SIG originally intended to launch the P365X with the red dot as a package earlier, but demand for the XL version set back this release. The new P365X incorporates the larger grip module of the XL with a shorter 3.1-inch barrel and slide.

The longer grip provides for a 12+1-round capacity with a flush-fitting magazine in 9mm Luger, compared to 10+1 with the standard grip. It is compatible with extended 15-round mags for backup and at the range.

Other XL features carried over to the X, in addition to the red dot cut and optic, include the improved straight trigger and X-Ray3 sight set up to co-witness with the red dot. Like other P365 pistols the X has a stainless steel slide and chassis, a carbon steel barrel, and black Nitron finish.

While the P365X doesn’t have quite enough room for a standard rear sight behind the optic, like with the XL, the optic is notched for use as a conventional backup rear sight with the tritium front day and night sight.

All in all, it’s a pretty tidy package measuring in at 6 inches long, 5.5 inches tall, and just 1.1 inches wide. Unloaded with a magazine, the P365X weighs just 18 ounces. The red dot sight has 8 power settings and takes one CR1632 cell.

Real-world and online pricing for the new P365X will probably fall between $600 and $650, the same as the XL, and each pistol ships with two magazines. For more information about these and the rest of the P365 guns visit SIG online.
