Overview
I was a guest of Sig Sauer at the company’s “Range Day 2017” and there were lots of great new guns and gear to be found ready to shoot. I went through all the newest and hyped guns that you can read all about here at GunsAmerica.com. During my search, I found what I think was the sleeper at range day, the 1911 TACOPS in 10mm. This gun was a great looking gun in subdued colors that masks its astonishing performance.
The 1911 10 TACOPS comes nicely equipped with low-profile Sig Lite night sights atop the rounded slide with a Nitron finish that I would describe as a deep gray. The frame is equipped with an integral accessory rail, ambidextrous safety, stainless steel machined magwell and XT grips that are rough but not sharp. I am told the gun ships with four (4) eight-round magazines. The trigger was crisp and short, and I would guess it broke around 4 pounds on the sample I shot.
I am a fan of both the 1911 platform and the 10mm round. Sig Sauer has put two of my favorites together and made something great.

Impression & Availability
I shot the gun and just could not believe how great the TACOPS in 10mm performed. The gun did not flip but rather had a push that was easy to manage. The accuracy was easy to gauge, with the steel targets ringing shot after shot. Magazine changes were fast and sure via the fully machined magazine well that was nicely finished to match the frame. MSRP is $1,221.00 and guns are available now.

WHAT IS A GOOD TARGET Round for this PISTOL.
7.8 longshot w/180 XTP quite accurate and pleasant load…..I carried two G20’s for years, and the left hand gun was tough w/full power handloads…..this load was accurate from both guns,as well as LAR Grizzly,S&W 610,and Colt Delta Elite.
I never thought i’d desire a “Sig”. That is until now….
I have this same gun in .45 ACP and at 25 yards it is the most accurate handgun I own and I have more that a few
handguns. I also owned, but sold, the Colt Delta Elite in 10MM and that gun was extremely accurate. This would
be a toss-up for me because you get the Colt name plus that gun has just been recently updated. Hard Choice. Both
are great firearms plus I never had a malfunction with either.
I’ve running the 45APC Railed TB version (.5 inches longer). It came with four 8 round mags. Its been flawless! The 10mm Should deliver great performance.
I have been enjoying their P220 in 10mm since it came out last year. Glad to see more 10mm offerings.
