SIG Sauer is introducing another Limited Edition pistol to their lineup, the 1911 Equinox Full-Size. A Custom Works gun, this 1911 showcases its Equinox style with two-tone highlights and a custom polished and engraved slide.
The 1911 Equinox Full-Size is a standard 1911 with a 5-inch barrel chambered for .45 ACP. It carries 8 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber, and comes with two mags.
The 1911 Equinox blends classic lines with SIG’s signature style, with a straight dust cover and no accessory rail. The slide sports SIG’s unique profile with full-height cocking serrations at the rear with a profile that tapers to the front.
The slide has a black Nitron finish that SIG polishes along the flats for the two-tone look, and matches it with a satin silver takedown lever, ambidextrous thumb safeties, grip safety, mainspring housing, magazine release and trigger. SIG selected a medium curved trigger with an adjustable overtravel screw.
The other controls are slightly extended, including the serrated slide stop and thumb safeties and mag release along with the upswept beavertail grip safety with a memory button.
The pistol looks very easy to control with deep checkering on the frontstrap and flat mainspring housing. The gun comes with custom Hogue slim G-10 grips bearing the SIG Sauer logo. The grips have satin silver screws that match the rest of the pistol’s highlights nicely.

It uses an all-stainless steel construction for the slide and frame with a durable carbon steel barrel. Like a lot of premium pistols by SIG, the 1911 Equinox comes standard with factory tritium night sights.
Every Equinox Limited Edition pistol comes with a Custom Works Negrini Case, Challenge Coin, and a certificate of authenticity.
These will likely carry a small premium over standard SIG 1911s since it is a Custom Works pistol, in line with the other new Equinox guns. Still, in today’s climate, they will sell fast.
