Right on the heels of several other hot new releases, SIG Sauer is bringing back another classic, the Equinox series. Starting with two Custom Works guns, the Equinox is returning with a limited-edition run of P226 and P229 pistols.
These Custom Works pistols incorporate two-tone highlights on the slide and the frame, with stainless steel slides with a black Nitron finish polished back down to metal along the flats. The slides are paired with black anodized frames and Hogue SL G-10 grips with accenting parts and controls with a satin nickel finish.
Other features include X-Ray3 day and night sights and enhanced short-reset triggers. Being Custom Works guns, they come in Negrini cases including two magazines, a challenge coin, and a SIG Custom certificate of authenticity.
Both handguns are chambered for 9mm Luger and have a standard capacity of 15+1. The P226 is the full-size model with a 4.4-inch barrel and extended muzzle while the P229 has a slightly more compact frame, shorter 3.8-inch barrel and muzzle flush with the frame.
The frames are lightweight alloy and feature a SIG Rail up front for accessories like lights and laser sights, and serrated frontstraps to provide better control.
Finishing touches include standard model engravings on the left side of the slide and “Equinox” and “Custom Works” and the SIG logo on the right. SIG hasn’t announced pricing yet but it will likely fall in the middle between base model prices and the Legion series pistols.

Of course predicting prices right now is a little more difficult, and adding the fact that these are a limited edition run, well, buyers should be ready to pull out their wallets because they will sell fast no matter what.
The SIG Custom Works shop has been especially busy this year, recently announcing the return of the Nightmare series, which the Equinox models follow, and the new alloy-framed P320 Carry.

Love mr SIGs but why put the SIG rail on these and not a standard 1913?? Their proprietary rail makes adding accessories extremely difficult.
