CZ-USA is happy to announce two special models of the SP-01, the Competition Red & Blue Pistols. Based on the proven SP-01 service pistol, the Competition Red & Blue guns have been tuned and upgraded for solid match-grade performance.
Starting with the full-size, hammer-fired, double-stack SP-01, both pistols are chambered for 9mm Luger, with 4.6-inch barrels. They have extended aluminum magazine base pads and flush machined alloy CZ logo grips anodized to match.
The extended base pads bring the magazine capacity of the Competition Red & Blue Pistols to 21+1 rounds. Of course, the improvements are beyond cosmetic with a tuned action and lightened springs.
With an upgraded match trigger, the guns have a 7.5-pound trigger pull in double-action followed by a single-action trigger pull rated at just 3.5 pounds. Both the mainsprings and recoil springs have been lightened to improve the trigger and allow the pistol to cycle more reliably with light competition ammunition.
Additionally, both versions come standard with fiber optic front sights and elongated black serrated rear target sights along with an enlarged magazine catch.
Based on the CZ SP-01, these pistols have all-steel frames bringing the unloaded weight to just over 41 ounces. The frames have full-length railed dust covers, an enlarged, undercut trigger guard and a long, upswept beavertail.

Both the front- and backstraps of the grips are serrated for improved handling. They also have forward and rear slide serrations.
Priced at $1,305 these fall in line with other hammer-fired competition offerings from CZ-USA. These look like great options for shooters looking for a match gun that’s good to go right out of the box.

The extended magazines seem ungainly to me. CZ has other competition guns with 19-20 rounds that do not extend like that.
